The new Avon Ohio YMCA is on schedule to open this April.  The construction can be viewed from I90 and from what it looks this facility is going to be spectacuilar when completed.   A state of the art facility featuring 67,506 square-feet of space  The crews are working on interior finishes. Those finishes include a lot of painting, tiling and ceiling work according to construction workers. The 67,000-square-foot facility, which is located a short distance from downtown Lorain and next to All Pro Freight Stadium, will be available to not just Avon residents, but all of Lorain County. Though I am waiting for the most current data for the summer... What I have seen through the MLS has been very promising for these two communities.  Sales as of June was up 11% from 15 months ago and climbing. And why not, both have wonderful school systems, great community activities and recreation.  They are full of seasonal fairs, events and all around fun for the residents. A Phiner Bistro is located on Chester Road in Avon, Ohio across from Wal-Mart.  The restaurant is a very formal setting and the prices that you see on the menu could give you the impression that you will have an enjoyable meal.  However, when I had dined there with a friend of mine, we had only ordered one main dish each and an appetizer for the both of us to share.  There was a group of about eight people sitting close to us, and the rest of the restaurant was empty.   It took us about 3 hours until we were served our order.  We were trying to be patient since we weren't in a hurry, but it didn't seem logical to have to wait that long when it didn't seem very busy there, since it was on a Wednesday night.  We thought maybe that Phiner could have been short staffed that night, until we ... 01/04/2009
