There is an old saying in Cleveland: There are two seasons in Greater Cleveland: Winter and Road Construction!  Or... If you don't like the weather, just wait a few days, it'll change. I'm quite sure Cleveland doesn't have the monopoly on these two sayings, but my son's flag football team played last weekend in the snow (1st snowfall of the season) in the semi-finals and they won!  Today, they got to play in a college football stadium for the championship and while they lost, they all had a great time -- but it's best I don't bring up the game for a few days until he gets over the loss! :)       11/14/2010

I watched this funny, but tragically sad video on quizzing some young Americans about basic civics who either don't know: The name of the Vice President The name of the Speaker of the House The name of the Senate Majority Leader # of members in the House of Representatives # of members in the US Senate # of members on the US Supreme Court etc. I'm not saying this video is representative of young Americans, heck, it might apply to anyone over the age of 18, it does make me wonder how that civics class didn't sink in more. Some real estate agents say and do crazy things sometimes that leaves one scratching their head.  Here is what I ran across this week in my daily travels: I was browsing the MLS for luxury homes for sale for a potential buyer who may be relocating to the Greater Cleveland, Ohio and I noticed almost all the photos were sideways -- that's right baby...90 degree turned.  Even a novice computer user knows about that little icon called "ROTATE" but how most all of these photos ended up turned completely sideways is beyond me.  Perhaps this listing agent read Seth Godin's Purple Cow book and decided they wanted their photos to really stand out.  While it's bad for any priced home, this home was a very expensive home.  I always ask: Where in the world is the seller in all this mess?
