There is so much more to do and see at the Geneva Public Library... Today we had to go to the library with mommy she had home work to do. So me and daddy went along for the ride. And we found all kinds of fun things at the library. They have a big tree you can climb in and some mirrors to make you look funny and games to play. They even have the very first traffic light that was put up in Geneva there on display. There are lots of computers and toys and people to help you. And they even have books too. You have to be quite at the library mommy says me and daddy were kind of loud but we don't think so we were just having some fun. We have some photos of our day at the library below to share with you. So if you ever want to have some fun or even read a book come to the Geneva library with...

"Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages" and "the greatest show on earth" You all know what those phrases mean, everyone knows what they are for  Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey but what if it wasn't the greatest show on earth ( circus show)......what if another show was the greatest......But was taken out by sickness and a tragic event? Well let me fill you in....Back in the late 1800's early 1900's there were a lot of traveling circuses roaming the USA and the world for that matter. In 1896 Geneva Ohio had a population of three thousand. They had five churches, two railroads running through the town. There was a bicycle factory, a piano factory, a Metal Wheel Works. Two banks, two groceries, one dry goods store, two clothing establishments, two hardware stores, three jewelers, tw...

In the late 1890's and the early 1900's America and 75 or more auto makes, Yes some were back yard garage brothers and others were big time factory tycoons. You maybe familiar with some of the big boy's names like Henry Ford, Louis Chevrolet, Ransom E. Olds just to name a few.... But what if I told you one of these company's may not have ever existed with out Geneva ,Ohio and dad Would you believe me? Well when I was a young child I was exposed to cars--- hot rods, race car, and classic cars..Must be why I love them so much now....Although I have never designed a car I have built quit a few and restored my share of them. So that brings me to this person that may have never built a car and gone on to be famous if it wasn't for Geneva, Ohio and dad Yes at young age this man was exposed to...

Well the NASCAR racing season is over but we still have the awards banquet coming up December 4th in Las Vegas. And Jimmy Johnson will be crowned the Cup Series champion for the 4th straight year. Thats all good. But at the end of the race tonight I found out that Rick Hendrick was not at the race. I thought that was kind of odd seeing as his team was going to win the championship no matter who won the race it was going to be Jimmy Johnson or Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon was going to be 3rd or 4th depending on how he did tonight....He ended up 3rd.... So Rick Hendrick not being at the track for this historic date in his company was kind of odd. His drivers finished 1st 2nd and 3rd in NASCAR standings and Jimmy won his 4th straight title... Congratulations to that. Well I came home from m...

This is a little lesson I learned last year that I thought I would pass on to you. Last year I had tenants that were late on the rent. Being the nice guy that I am I would give them some time to catch up. (This is important it is just the 2 of them they both work full time and no kids...)  Well when I didn't hear from them or get any rent payments in the mail. I went knocking on the door...... I'm not one to go off the wall without good reason....I am laid back kind of guy, But they answered the door invited me in and told me they just didn't have the rent. Ok I asked what are we going to do about this? This was the middle of December So they were about two weeks late. I figured Christmas was coming and there job hours were being cut down it's not that big a deal if they were a little l...

Things I have learned from my 4 year old.....A day in the life of Matthew. There is no such thing as child-proofing your house. So don't even waist your time.  A 4 years-old's voice is louder than 100 adults in a crowded restaurant.   Play Dough and Microwave should never be used in the same sentence. Soccerballs make marks on ceilings and walls You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using the ceiling fan as a bat you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way. The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh;" it's already too late. Toilet bowl cleaner mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it. A 4 year old...

That's right I asked you if you were an Edsel... some of you know what an Edsel is others don't. 1st and foremost and Edsel is a automobile that Ford Motor Company made from 1957-1959 model years 1958-1960. Edsel . 2nd.... after the failure of the Edsel auto it took on a whole new meaning "The word 'Edsel' became synonymous with failure," says Marshall Brain, the founder of Howstuffworks.com, who has written extensively about the Edsel. He's not kidding. Look up Edsel in Webster's dictionary. The first definition is specific: "automobile produced (1957-1959) by the Ford Motor Company." The second is broader: "a product, project, etc. that fails to gain public acceptance despite high expectations, costly promotional efforts, etc." Edsel definition  So it brings me back to my question Are...

In 1983 I went to Washington DC with my classmates to see the sites. It was one of the best field trips I was ever on. We went to a lot of places that week. and did a lot of things... The National MallLincoln MemorialWashington MonumentJefferson MemorialArlington Memorial and House Just to name a few.... Looking back now when you are 13-14 years old some things just don't mean as much as when your older. I remember going to see the  Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the only thing I remember about that was saying at "least my dads name isn't on there" then thinking wow someones dad's name is on there. I took some photos of it and that was it. Now that I am older...just a little older...I have a great appreciation for that memorial...I am still thankful my dad is not on it. But still all tho...
