Local Company Revives Mason's Red Rhythm & Boom Celebration for 2011! And wouldn't you know it, they're a fireworks company!  Prestige Fireworks of Mason recognized the need to keep the event going and has offered to take care of the equipment and insurance costs for the event to be held July 4th at Corwin Nixon Park. While the event may be scaled down from some years past, no big name music acts, it should still be a fun time for everyone!  Food vendors and fireworks are a good formula for some good holiday memories.  The Mason Community Band has volunteered to provide entertainme...

Pay It Forward:  It's HAMMER TIME for Habitat For Humanity!! Today is perfection in weather!  Cool with a nice breeze.  God gave us the ideal conditions for Christ's Church at Mason's Build The Walls event this morning! We had a goal to build FIVE home's walls for Habitat for Humanity.  Jesus was a carpenter, so what better event for our church's outreach program?  And with an estimated 600 people turning out today, with ages from young kids to senior citizens, the goal was EASILY met in less than 4 hours! The team from Louisville Kentucky that runs the event has this down to a fine science.  They travel church to church holding the event and have it systematized to train non-carpenters in how to pull the build off with minimal hiccups .  With a cut session on Friday, EVERYTHING was sta...

Hot Neighborhoods:  Simpson Creek Farm in Deerfield Township You've seen all the articles about gloom and doom and woe is me for the real estate market, but real estate is local....VERY LOCAL!Some neighborhoods are slow.  Country homes with acreage move even slower.  But some places have the right recipe and demand is there.  Simpson Creek Farm in Deerfield Township is one of those neighborhoods!  Actually Simpson Creek Farm is split by Socialville Foster Rd into two sections: the south section of the development does not have amenities, the north section has a pool and play area.Simpson Creek Farm has a fantastic location with easy access (off Socialville Foster between Snider and Mason-Montgomery Rds).  Just minutes from Deerfield Towne Center (shopping and LOTS of restaurants!), top ...

Paying It Forward:  Helping "His Hands Bear Ministry" The senior group at our church (Christ's Church at Mason) has a very neat outreach program called "His Hands Bear Ministry".  Once a month they get together and make dozens and dozens of little bears (about a foot tall from toe tip to top of their heads!). Each bear is truly unique!  While the shape may be uniform, the ladies put a lot of creativity into making each bear different, with a variety of fabrics, perhaps a vest or tie, maybe even a hat! Now you may wonder what happens to these bears?  Well, they're donated to cancer patients at local hospitals to help give them comfort!  From children to adults, hopefully to let them know that God and strangers DO care about what happens to them as they go through such a challenging time!...
