Tonight is the annual fireworks display in Mount Vernon, Ohio.  The fireworks will be most easily viewed from the Mount Vernon Avenue area near Memorial Park and by the Mount Vernon High School and sports field.  The fireworks are launched near the Kokosing Gap Trail and the city has closed the bike path parking lot and they also close Cougar Drive where the RC airplane park is located.   There should be plenty of parking at the Mount Vernon football stadium parking lot and also in the Mount Vernon High School and Middle School parking lots.  If you don't mind walking 5 extra minutes I highly recommend parking in the upper lot of the high school or the Knox County Career Center but it is easier to exit once the fireworks have concluded.
