My kids like to climb trees. My husband loves heights and loves to climb rocks, hills, buildings, bridges...you get the picture. But he works a lot, and play time is usually inside involving computers and video games. He's an IT guy. On this sunny June day in Munroe Falls, a couple of my teenage kids decided to spend some quality time with Dad, climbing a maple tree in our front yard. Dad climbed up first, which made the kids laugh. It was fun. Climbing with the kids was a special treat. He likes to climb, but doesn't do it much anymore. Munroe Falls Friends of the Park raised $700 thanks to the generosity of Crooked River Grill's owners Dave and Sue and the food concession, as well as those who purchased 50/50 raffle tickets. Sponsors for the prizes included: Kirbie's Meats in Stow; PatriotTek Computer and Network Solutions, Munroe Falls and others. The Car Show was noon to 4 on Sept. 20 on city property between Guise Park and City Hall, 42 Munroe Falls Ave. The show was sponsored by Friends of the Munroe Falls Park Board and the Munroe Falls Park Board. These shots are from River Day 2008, which was held in May. The Cuyahoga River is making such a spectacular comeback. This event draws volunteers and citizens who have helped and continue to help the river again be enjoyed by wildlife and humans. The celebration this year in Munroe Falls offered volunteer opportunities, a farmer's market, a petting zoo, live animals, food and treats served by Friends of the Park as they raise funds to support the park, live music, cornhole games, a book sale, a visit by Smokey the Bear, exhibits and OEPA fish population sampling demo. There was also a sausage and pancake breakfast, and lunch was served. Friends of the Park is looking for volunteers. Come enjoy the river and have fun improving the environment! 08/27/2008

We currently have 6 residential properties under contract, and 13 residential properties have been sold between 4/30/08 and 6/30/08. There are many beautiful neighborhoods in Summit County, and here's some insight to one... The Steeplechase The Steeplechase is one development which has lived up to its potential. Here are some not-so-obvious reasons why: The 153 properties are well maintained and manicured. The trees, which are quite a status symbol in suburban settings, are tall and healthy. Our pear-tree lined streets are one of the jaw-dropping sights in spring. This year's show was superb! Check it out! There is only one way in and out of The Steeplechase, so it is a very peaceful setting. Real Estate Review of Munroe Falls Property values in Munroe Falls are more volatile than nearby communities since it is a much smaller community and a single home sale can change the averages significantly.  The price fluctuated more during the years based on the mix of homes being sold versus the overall market conditions.  The average sales price for 2007 was $171,820 and has been above $150,000 since 2000.  The average sales price peaked in 2005 at $173,870.  In 2000, the average sales price was $149,998..  It increased to $158,938 in 2001 and remained steady at $157,516 in 2002.  It then increased to $171,989 in 2003, and dropped to $167,239 in 2004.  It dropped to $155,333 in 2005, and jumped back to $171,820 in 2007.  The total number of home sales dipped in 2007 after an increas... 05/18/2008
