Good news for North Royalton Ohio schools! On Tuesday voters approved a 6.2 mill, 10 year emergency operating levy, after a 4.9 mill levy failed in March of 2008. After the failure of that levy, there were many cuts. Among them were:no public and private high school busing$100 pay to play fee for spring portshigh school and middle school closings at 6:00p.m. and elementary school closings at 4:00p.meliminating several extracurricular activitiesletting go of some employees. It's unknown whether the buses will be reinstated or whether there will still be a pay to play for sports, but the passage of this levy was certainly the desired outcome for many North Royalton residents and students.
