Purchasing a House or Condominium Could Be A Disaster!!! For most people the purchasing of a house or condominium will be the largest financial purchase they will make in their lifetime. There are many considerations to be made when purchasing a house or condominium.  After you get the financial part out of the way and know exactly how much you have to invest in a house or condominium you will need some expert qualified help in making your decision. Do you know the difference of a freehold property vs. a condominium?  Which will suit your lifestyle?  What is the neighbourhood like?  Do the schools have a good reputation.? Is there local transportation and how far away is it?  Whew... that's a lot of questions.  There's more, how many bedrooms do you need?  How many bathrooms?  Is air co...

Ability to Negotiate. By selling first, you have the luxury of time. You don't have to take the first offer that comes along because you already have a place to live. It's called your home.  Higher Sales Price. Sellers who aren't under pressure to sell often obtain higher sales prices because buyers realize the sellers are not desperate. Nothing yells "discount your offer" like a listing that reads: "seller motivated, bought another."  Contingent on Concurrent Closing. By making the sale of your home contingent on closing concurrently with your new purchase, you have basically said to the buyer, "If I can't find the home I want to buy, I'm under no obligation to sell to you." You don't have to name the property address. You can simply state: "This sale contingent on closing concurrent...

Are You A Farmer on Farmville? Farmville started out as a game.  Kind of like putting a puzzle together.  They give you a piece of land that you could divide up into plots to be planted, or buy a house, a stable, cow barns, trees, just about anything. As you advance you can increase the size of your farm.  You are rewarded in many ways on your farm.  You get FV's (Farmville Dollars), XP's (experience points), certificates, ribbons and more.     More than a game, you learn to be an organizer, a planner, a helper and even a designer.  Google Farmville Designs, watch a few... they call this a game.Recently they started co-op farming, where you get together with other farmers and complete a project.  This is where friendships really start to grow.  Remember if you are playing in the social m...

Protect Yourself When Paying For Internet Purchases and Subscriptions Yesterday we wrote about getting blocked everything we tried to do was not working. We just wanted to expand a little on part of that post.  Sometimes we are nervous about using our VISA card over the Internet, especially when signing up to a subscription that charges you on a weekly, monthly or annual basis. Recently one of the subscriptions we had signed into using our VISA card stopped doing what it was suppose to do.  We tried to contact the subscription's support to no avail.  We contacted VISA and basically their response was "tough, you signed into it" On telling them that we were not getting any response from the subscription, their answer was to send a registered letter to cancel and if we were charged again,...

Did You Know That Your Font Matters? We were reading an article today that was indicating that the font you use can make a difference in your overall cost to operate your printer.  You can get some great deals on the printer itself, matter a fact we bought a couple of Brother laser black and white printers for about $50 a year or so ago.  Never even considered the cost of the toner.  Now that is where the money is. The article went on to say that simply by changing your font from "arial" to "century gothic" could save $60 or more a year.  Now that is not a lot, but you could eat out a couple of more times at McDonald's. If you are in the market for a new printer, the cost of the printer and the toner is important but don't forget the support.  We wrote about the support we got with our ...

The Results Are In and Have Been ReportedEarth Hour has come and gone for another year, but we hope the affects and awareness last all year.  Earth Hour 2010 saw a reduction in power of 4%.  It doesn't sound like much, but in this report from MSN, they claim that was enough to power the City of Brampton.  The City of Brampton has a population of more than 450,000 residents and in excess of 266 square miles.  That is a lot of area to power up and people's needs to fulfill. It proves that in reality that was indeed quite a saving of resources in only just one hour of one single day.  Can you imagine what we could actually save if we did this every day, for just one hour? What can you do?

The Crown West Brampton Condominium, 20 Cherrytree Dr. Brampton, Ontario, Canada The Kerbel & Rice Groups marketed "The Crown West" condominiums (Brampton Condominiums) when it was under construction, calling it a place "where dreams come true".  They called it right!  They must have focused on a lifestyle for its residents, not just somewhere to live, because it was so well thought out.  They chose an idyllic neighbourhood, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, with amenities and transportation arteries easily accessible.  They built The Crown West condominiums at 20 Cherrytree Drive with facilities to compete with the best of fitness clubs and then as an added measure, they included features people desire from detached homes. Come on in and have a look around, we will start right here in the ...

Do You Need A New Printer? Try Brother! We Did And Are Glad We Did We just wanted to share our experience with Brother Canada.  About a year ago we were in the market for a new printer.  We have always been HP fans but decided to give Brother a shot.  We purchased an all in one wireless printer, MFC-6490CW (probably a Canadian model number), it prints, scans, copies and faxes and can also handle 11" x 17" paper, not many home office machines can do that. (still a current model) Here we are a year later, we had made some changes in our computer family.  We now have computers with XP, Vista, Explorer 7 and Mac OS, they all need a little different adjustments to get them to work.  If you are like us, routers, IP addresses, network connections to name a few are not our cup of tea. On the ph...
