The City of Orillia Ontario, Canada Brought To You By Al and Peggy Cunningham of RE/MAX.  One of the neighbourhoods that is near and dear to our hearts, is the The City of Orillia Ontario, Canada that is located on the shores of two lakes; Lake Simcoe (known as the forgotten Great Lake) and Lake Couchiching which form part of the Trent-Severn Waterway System.  You can cruise the system from Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay.  You may wonder why we call the City of Orillia a neighbourhood.  Well with a population of only 31,000 it is more like a neighbourhood!   The Village of Orillia was founded in 1867 (sharing the same birth year as Canada), it was incorporated as a town in 1875 and then became a City in 1969. Orillia is known as the "Sunshine City" in the heart of Lake Country.  Orillia h...

The quaint Village of Churchville is located in the south west part of the City of Brampton bounded by Steeles Avenue to the north, Highway 407 to the south, Financial Drive to the west and the east side of the Credit River.   Forming part of a particularly scenic portion of the Credit River Valley this little neighbourhood is a sought after area for many.   Dominated by it's rural setting, the Village of Churchville has undergone significant changes since the first settlers started to inhabit the area almost 160 years ago.The Credit River brought an abundance of water to the area and allowed for a thriving milling centre many years ago for a lumber industry to get started  and also allowed farmers to farm wheat in the surrounding areas. Sadly, several economic downturns and then a disa...

...... says Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of Canada. Mr. Carney addressed a press conference following the release of the Monetary Policy Report this morning. As per Governor: The Bank has long expected that economic growth in Canada would resume in the second half of this year and pick up in 2010. Indeed, growth in Canada should resume this quarter. The dynamics of the recovery projected in today's MPR are broadly consistent with the Bank's medium-term outlook in April. Just saw this article and thought as Real Estate Agents you would be interested in it seeing it, our City of Brampton, Ontario, Canada didn't make the list of Canada's Best and Worst Run Cities. The article started off saying, "This survey, the first of its kind in Canada, provides citizens in 31 cities across the country with comparative data on how well-or poorly-their city is run, measured by the cost and quality of the public services it delivers." The article went on to say how they picked the cities they did.  Well, our City didn't make the list, it was probably omitted due to space as our City of Brampton, Ontario, Canada is one of the largest and fastest growing cities in Canada.  So if you have people looking to move to the Toronto area, Brampton is part of the Greater Toronto ...

Hi Everyone, Had an idea that this one would stump you.  It all started out early in the morning, had to do some yard work (not my favorite pass time), lifted up a patio stone... voila a "Name That Photo" picture op! Now, I did bend over to pick out a hard part of the picture, didn't want the first person to guess this time. Here was the picture in question:   At first glance, it could be just about anything... tired tread, running shoe sole? A lot of work went into designing this little city, but our quiz all started with the lifting of a patio stone.   Here, let's get a little closer (hope you aren't eating lunch) How do you like your eggs?  Sunny side up! Have a Great Day... Al and Peggy Cunninghamhttp://www.TheHousePeople.comhttp://www.AlandPeggysCorner.com

You Did It Again... First Guess... Bingo! This time it was Marg Scheben-Edey. Well, we don't feel too bad because Marg is showing us that Canadian AR'ers are pretty sharp too.  Within seconds she guessed the right answer. It just goes to show you, if we are going to try to stump you, it better be good.  We zoomed into a picture we took of a beautiful peacock, it didn't even look real, but that didn't matter, Marg and most of you all got it. Here's our "Name That Photo" picture of our beautiful peacock...   Here's the full picture...       Okay, we are off to find something that will stump you, we know it's a hard task, but we are going to give it a shot. Have A GREAT Day! Al and Peggy Cunninghamhttp://www.TheHousePeople.com

Okay, the last time we tried this, that Wanda girl from Utah blew our whole secret in seconds of us posting our "Name That Photo". What's this Wanda? We'll be back with the answer soon, we know it's hard to trick a good AR'er but we don't think the first guess will get this one. Al and Peggy Cunningham"http://www.TheHousePeople.com

Happy Good Morning on this fine "Friday's Fotos" day! Just fired up AR to post our photo and our eye caught the post by Paul Slaybaugh on the topic of copywriting.  It seems most want to keep their photo close to their heart and not let anyone else use them.  We're weird, you can use our photos, just call or email us so we can see it and tell everyone "we took that picture" Here's one we took on our last and first trip to Mexico.  We actually were staying in the Mayan Riviera and on our way home, at the airport they were looking for volunteers to give up their seat until the next day. Well it was tough, they sent us to Cancun for the day, put us up in the Hyatt Cancun Caribe Resort, (ocean front room for a mere 5,901 pesos (US $536). We took more pictures there than the rest of our trip...
