[Pictures provided courtesy of the Aldershot Community Festival Committee] The Aldershot Community Festival will be taking place on May 30, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hidden Valley Park.  As you can see from the photos above, last year's event was a huge success with over 2,000 people in attendance. This year's festival promises to be just as much fun.  The Field and Stream Rescue Team will be holding their annual Rubber Duck Race starting at 2 p.m.  Get there early to purchase your duck.  As well, there are a lot of children's activities, a scavenger hunt, a 3-legged race, a vendors area and a United Way BBQ. And what would the day be without some great musical entertainment.  Well, this year, Hot Buttered Soul will be ...

The Aldershot Community Festival will be taking place on Saturday, May 31st from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hidden Valley Park.  There will be over 20 crafters and vendors on hand as well as an all day BBQ in support of the United Way.  The Field and Stream Rescue Team will be holding their annual rubber duck race.  It sounds like a great day is planned for everyone.  If entertainment is what you are looking for, Canadian rock band The Kings will be performing.  Remember a few of their hits like Switchin' To Glide and this Beat Goes On?  What a blast from the past! Also performing will be up and coming artist Annie Marleau who will be performing in various venues across Burlington over the summer. The Aldershot Community Festival sounds like a must-do event.  For more information, visit...

Let's face it.  When the time comes to sell your home, my guess is that you'll think yours is the one that will be swept up the minute the sign is on your lawn.  Or in more modern lingo, the minute it hits the net.  It's human nature.  We all think that way, regardless of market conditions. The large grey elephant that you painstakingly painted on your dining room wall inspired by your summer vacation may be a selling feature to you.  However, not everyone else is going to feel the same way.  The same goes for dear old Aunt Edna's life-size portrait prominently displayed right in the foyer.  When you think about it, the portrait intimidates you.  What do you think it will do to prospective buyers?  They'll be out the door before you know it!Being able to stand back and take an impartial ...

Many people underestimate the importance of curb appeal when selling their home. When you want to get top dollar for your property, it's important that the exterior be just as appealing as the interior.  Why not put the effort into the little extras that will show people how much you have cared for your home.  Many potential buyers scout around their target areas taking down the numbers of homes for sale that are of interest to them.  If the outside of your home looks tired and uncared for, chances are your real estate agent won't be getting a call from that potential buyer to book a viewing. In the spring, summer and fall, add colour to the front of your home with flowers.  Also make sure that your lawn is diligently weeded and watered often.  Make sure that you adhere to local watering...
