Lighting is, perhaps, the most important element in decorating. The right lamp, chandelier or ceiling fixture can instantly make a room more attractive and inviting. The wrong lighting, unfortunately, can have the opposite effect. Here are five secrets to making the right choice: How much lighting is required in a room? To calculate, simply multiply the square footage by 1.5. Therefore, a 12′ x 16′ living room would require 288 watts of lighting (12 x 16 x 1.5 = 288). How big a chandelier do you need? Simply add the dimensions of the room together. So a 12′ x 16′ area could accommodate a chandelier that is 28 inches in diameter (12 + 16 = 28). The front door is usually the first feature of a house that buyers see and feel. How do you ensure it makes a grand first impression? That’s easy. Put on a fresh coat of paint. Replace worn or faded door handles and locks. Install a brass kick plate at the bottom of the door. Clean the exterior door frame. Make it shine. These may seem like little things. But they can make a big difference to the first impression your house makes on potential buyers.Your Real Estate Connection: Marina Gavrylyuk Real Estate Agent with Sutton Group Summit Realty www.MarinaG.ca Marina.Realtor RentListingService.com - Condos and Houses for rent CondoName.com - New and Resale Condos and Towns from Developers  Marina Gavrylyuk Sales Representative Sutton Group-Summit Realty Inc. Aggressive Mute Swans Found in the Port Credit area of Mississauga. The Mute Swan is a very common sight along the Lake Ontario shoreline of Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and Toronto. This swan is not native to Ontario.  It was introduced accidentally when Europeans brought breeding pairs over to stock the ponds of large country estates in the USA in the 1800s. The first breeding pair of Mute Swans in Ontario was seen in 1958 and since that time their population has increased greatly, often displacing the native waterfowl of Ontario. Since their introduction, the Mute Swan has spread far and wide. They can be distinguished from our native swan, the Trumpeter Swan by their orange bills. Trumpeter Swans have black bills and having nearly disappeared from Ontario, are rarely seen. The ...

The lure to live in Port Credit is getting stronger and stronger as the Village is developed and rejuvenated. The addition of several hundred high end condominiums has added a much needed boost in the number of alternative housing for the South Mississauga empty nesters and professionals. When the resales of the new Fram 'Northshore' development at #1 Hurontario get registered and come on the market we should see prices in the $400k range up to $1.5m or so. The renovated PumpHouse Grill has helped re-energize Port Credit's bar scene and encouraged other venues like Roc n' Docs and The Brogue to improve their facilities. The much anticipated 'No Frills' re-development will surely add to the improved overall 'vibe' of the village with it's new retail store fronts. In addition there will ...
