Located at the corner of Hwy 124 (to the north) and Hwy 89 (to the west) is the newest location for a Tim Horton's.  If all goes well the store is to be built in the next year or so according to head office.  This will be the first time that a Tim Horton store will open it's doors to the locals of this fine town.  It's quite amazing that after all these years Shelburne is going to have a store, considering Tim's Grandfather lived here on Andrew st for years!!

Jelly Craft Bakery & Cafe Telephone: 519-925-1824Location: 120 Main St., Shelburne, L0N 1S0   Hot bread fresh from the oven, crisp outside, warm and flavourful inside… soups with farm-fresh vegetables and a hearty homemade taste… crisp salads… this is Jelly Craft. Come for the breads, stay for lunch, and chose from tantalizing jars on the shelves. Then the crafts… give yourself time to enjoy. Light lunches, tearoom, gift baskets. Tuesday to Sunday   My favourite eating establishment in Shelburne - a wonderful, quaint place to visit, with an endearing country charm.  It's a nice retreat from the daily grind and a fantastic place to meet and play card! The homemade spinach soup, served with a freshly baked multigrain bun is delicious! Their baked goods are exceptional as well.

Anyone who knows teaching knows it is a fulltime occupation and then some, yet two local educators, Ian MacCallum and Ingrid Langhorst, have found time to follow their life's inspiration of music all the way to the recording studio. With the release of their first CD, "Let it Float", the husband and wife team realize a dream of many years. In 2005, while vacationing on Prince Edward Island the couple happened upon award winning producer Lester Stubbert. They played Stubbert their demo, made at Steve Altilia's studio in Riverview, northwest of Shelburne. Stubbert was interested, and a collaboration began to produce a CD from a selection of 40 songs written by MacCallum and Langhorst. Ian MacCallum, who currently teaches grade five at Hyland Heights Public School, grew up in Ottawa and be...

Improving and maintaining a trail network through Shelburne is a short-term priority identified in a recent active transportation plan (ATP) study. The study was conducted by Meridian Planning Consultants and Cumming, with the aim of developing recommendations that would move Shelburne closer to a number of goals, some of which included active living, year-round, in all age groups, as well as further development of the Shelburne Trail Network. In addition to recommendations, the report included appendices, one of which summarized suggestions made by the public in the course of consultations, covering ideas as diverse as promoting “vehicle-free” day and mailing out trail maps with tax bills. The report provided 15 “long-term directions,” as well as five key recommendations “over the shor...

KTH in Shelburne has expanded again. The manufacturing facility supplies Honda (and Acura) with frame components for the Ridgeline, Civic, MDX and CSX models. Now the company has added two Aida 2,500-tonne transfer presses to their capabilities. According to the general manager of production, the massive mechanical presses are equipped with servo assist and can handle up to six dies, which will be used to make Ridge line components. The presses can exert 2,500 tonnes of force. Hall says the acquisition has required hiring 20 new associates, six of which are skilled tradespeople. The general manager of administration, says the plant can now manufacture components for 1,600 vehicles per day. They are one of the largest local employers, and to have them expand is fantastic for the locals. ...

Pets and their owners need worry no more about transient veterinary service in Shelburne. We now have Dr. Bob McKee and his wife, Terry, in town and looking to grow some deep roots. McKee, who operated a small veterinarian practice in Waterloo throughout the '90s, has extensive emergency medical experience through working in clinics in Brampton, Barrie and Kitchener. In 2003, the couple bought a practice in Lindsay, and soon found themselves providing care for the canine unit for the Lindsay Police's dogs, Flint and Strike, at their own expense. To this day, McKee still provides care for the now-retired Flint and remains a partner with the Kawartha Animal Hospital. In June, the couple moved into a new house in Shelburne and opened the Headwaters Veterinary Hospital at 127 Owen Sound Str...

Town of Shelburne Shelburne usually boasts the phrase "A People Place- A Change of Pace", truer words were never spoken. Shelburne transports you back to a time when all food was home cooked and music was a celebration to share with everyone. This charming town lights up during August for the Old Time Fiddle Contest and parade, where locals and visitors tap, stomp, and hum along to the sounds of fiddlers from all across North America. In Shelburne you can take a step back in history with the old Town Hall, which has been restored and contains Grace Tipling Hall a wonderfully entertaining antique theatre. Also, just around the corner is the old Shelburne Post Office (which is now a fabulous antique store), the restored original library, and also Jelly House, where entrepreneurs, hotel ow...
