What's in Your Coffee?  An interesting blog called "Putting Weird Things in Coffee" by a Canadian grad student has hit the Internet.  He has experimented with putting the most unlikely ingredients in his coffee, such as smoked salmon cream cheese, bacon, and cheese bread to name a few.  You might ask, why in the world would anyone combine such strange ingredients in their morning cup of joe.  The grad student explains, (as he puts it) "I drink coffee every day, but get bored with the same old cream and sugar." Perhaps boredom can be the catalyst for ingenuity and creativity.  If so, perhaps we should all consider giving it a try.  So I ask, what's in your coffee?

According to: Associated Press, Alan Zibel (12/10/2009) Only about 4 percent of the home owners who signed up for loan modifications-fewer than 31,000-had received them by the end of November, according to figures released Thursday by the U.S. Treasury Department. Of the largest lenders, Bank of America Corp. had the worst results. It completed a total of 98 modifications. With 7,100, GMAC Mortgage completed the most. Lenders have blamed their lack of success in part on the failure of borrowers to complete the paperwork necessary for the process. The government says it will expedite its efforts to push through as many modifications as possible. I have heard from a few people that their loans have been approved for modification, BUT the loan payment is more than the existing loan payment...

Tails of Love is a heart-warming video produced by Mark J Asher.  It is a story of tragedy and triumph in the life of Donna and her canine companion Tuxedo.  If you love animals, you will love this touching story.  Interesting too, the story takes place in Simi Valley, CA, which happens to be my old stomping ground.  Mark J Asher is a terrific author who has written several books (Old Friends, Barking up the Family Tree, Bark & Ride) capturing the love between humans and their canine friends.  Mark resides in Ashland Oregon with his faithful canine pal, Payten.

Now that the Ashland fire is apparently under control, I can return to the boring statistics of Ashland Oregon real estate. I've come to the conclusion that statistics are not exciting for anyone to read. I post them because I personally find them fascinating, but I don't consider myself to be a boring person. I'm not really sure what that says about me. So perhaps I should start with a joke. This actually comes from the homepage of the American Mensa Societywhich I was looking at to see what you had to do to be part of Mensa. I have no idea what Mensa meetings are about. It seems kinda strange to me, but I got curious yesterday. But when I found that one of their incentives to get you to join was people will understand your jokes. Now that got me interested. Also, for the record, I'm a...

After over five years living here in beautiful Southern Oregon, we are still making new discoveries all the time. New paths to take on walks and hikes. New streets to travel on to familiarize ourselves with the various neighborhoods here while discovering the different viewpoints here in the Rogue Valley. New shops/businesses to explore. All new to us, anyway.   We recently celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. Since we had house guests at the time, we postponed our celebration until after they left. On Saturday, my hubby and I headed over to a restaurant we’ve wanted to try, having heard such wonderful things about them from people that have dined there before. Off to the Winchester Inn Restaurant we went!                                                                             C...
