  Such a Shy, Sweet Thing... Meet Chickadee!   This sweet girl is a little bashful and so very gentle, she needs a gentle owner who would love to have a lap dog and constant companion. Chickadee is a chihuahua mix who is about six months old. She's quite the girly-girl, who likes to stay neat and clean and she just loves pink. She takes things slow in the beginning, but warms up quickly then really lets her puppy side shine through.   Speechless Sunday - Columbia Gorge's Kiteboarding Season Well Underway   In case you don't know, the Columbia River Gorge and Hood River specifically is nationally known in kiteboarding circles. And in case you don't know, kiteboarding is a sport where the rider stands on a small surfboard then holds onto a kite, similar to a parasail, and uses the wind to ride the water. Because of its geological form, the Columbia Gorge channels wind that's perfect for the sport so enthusiasts flock to the area from May to October.   Enjoy a Historic Walking Tour of Hood River Every Saturday   The town of Hood River, Oregon is not only lovely, but packed with history that few people completely realize. The town of Hood River was incorporated in 1895, after long enjoying its position as a stop along the famed Lewis & Clark Trail. Hood River includes over two dozen sites officially on the National Register of Historic Places, including the oldest home built in 1886. The History Museum of Hood River County is now sharing this rich history with the public by offering a walking tour of downtown every Saturday. Meet at the Hood River County Library, 502 State Street, Saturdays starting May 26th at 10 am. The tour lasts about an hour and is offered rain or shine, through June 30th.   The Perfect Companion, And Sooo Much Fun... Meet Tucker!   Tucker just may be one of the most perfect dogs ever. Not only is is fun and playful, but he calms down easily when asked to and he's beautifully trained. He knows many commands, walks beautifully on a leash and is house trained. He loves to go for rides in the car, waits politely at an open door and will "give" his favorite toy when asked. Tucker is a young adult, about 60 pounds and a lab/cattle dog mix. If you're familiar in either of those breeds, you know that means he's going to be smart, gentle and ultra loyal. His biggest problem is that at 60 pounds he thinks he's a lap dog. Or maybe that's not a problem. The guy just loves to cuddle with his people. Tucker would adore an active home where he'll get lots of exercise. ... 05/19/2012
