We liked this little park set along Johnson Creek, it made for a very peaceful time. The kids seemed to really like the play structure and actually didn’t want to leave. (That could have been also because it has been months since really had a chance to get our because of the rain) This park located just off Johnson Creek Blvd and Linwood Ave even has a few parking places on the backside for people driving to the park. I enjoyed it because of the sounds of the creek, the kids enjoyed it because of the structure. It made it a nice park to sit on the bench and read for me and kept the kids busy for awhile. So, if you are in the Clackamas area and looking for a place to take the family for a little break, then check out Mill Park, it is well worth it.

 Normally we don’t venture out ofWashington County forparks, but it was over 90 degrees this day and we wereover at my brother’shouse for the car ride. Afterwards were looking for a way to cool down.As youcan tell by the name of the park, it is located on the river.We were hoping that it actuallyhad river access forswimmers and not just boaters. We were in luck on thisone! It actually didn’thave boat access and just people access. In the 1800’s, Oregon was just a territory and its future was still up in the air. But many man and women took the trek from the east to west coast along the Oregon Trail and one of those men was John McLoughlin who later became a Doctor John McLoughlin. Doctor John McLoughlin came to Oregon and built Fort Vancouver and later became known as the father of Oregon as he implemented so many trades with the Indians and helped build what Oregon became so well known for.
