On January 6, 1994, the 200th anniversary of Lukens' birth, the Pennsylvania Legislature and City of Coatesville declared her "America’s first woman industrialist." She was also ho...

Last night we met friends at what I think is one of the closest things I have found in the States to an English pub. It is cosy with outdoor seating, wood panelling and a great choice of beers. Located in Chester County in Springdell Village, The Whip Tavern is a great place for lunch or dinner as well as a decent pint. If you are a wine drinker, bring your own, the are only licensed for beer. TV's are tuned to sport and primarily Rugby as the local team is definitely connected. We started with a pint whilst we waited, I enjoyed the rugby on the screen, being an old prop forward and playing for Middlesex in England when I was 16, a long long time ago, and we asked for a table outside on the patio. USDA Rural Development Loan Program funding is close to being exhausted. This is a quick update from our Lenders that I wanted to pass on.  (The USDA Rural Development Loan Program is not available in Delaware County but it does become applicable as you move further into Chester and Montgomery counties.) On March 9, the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development (RD) announced that program funding for the Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program (SFHGLP) will likely be exhausted by the end of April.  With this in mind, some lenders are already no longer accepting USDA Rural Development Loan Applications effective immediately. As always, if you have any questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to let me know. David HenkeLong & Foster Real E...
