October 5Pumpkin’ Chunkin’ Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., event is finished when last contestant is done (7:30 ish?) at Schuylkill Mall, Frackville. How far can you toss a pumpkin? This is the kickoff event for the annual Frackville Pumpkin Festival. Participants are to meet at the far parking lot (behind Black Diamond Antiques) of the Schuylkill Mall at 5:30 p.m. to register. Contestants will be divided by age and sex for the competition. From toddlers to Senior citizens, this free-of-charge event is open to all! Winners will receive Schuylkill Mall gift certificates. December 11  CHRISTMAS PARADE & SANTA MEET –N- GREET The parade will begin through town featuring Santa Claus and a host of your favorite cartoon friends. The parade will feature only trucks and a Christmas trolley. No walking groups will be involved. The parade will circle around most streets in town starting at 2:00pm.  Immediately following the parade, festivities will begin at the Frackville Borough’s Community Center on Center and Oak Streets. The Borough of Frackville hosts a Veteran of the Month program in honor of distinguished community Veterans. The program will involve flying the American Flag located at the Frackville Borough Building in honor of a different Veteran for each month of the year. The submission essay and veteran’s photograph will also be permanently displayed in the hallway of the Frackville Borough Building. Program Rules:To be eligible to be the Frackville Veteran of the Month, submit a 500 word essay that details the Veteran’s Frackville connection, military history and any other accomplishments.
