Living in the Horsham, PA area is a privilege I have enjoyed for almost 4 years now and it has given me an appreciation for the many great neighborhoods where residents of Horsham Township can live. One of those neighborhoods is Hidden Meadows.  The Hidden Meadows neighborhood is comprised of 71 households on Colonial Drive, Lantern Lane, Lamplighter Road and Coach Road off of Witmer and Norristown Roads. This lovely community is comprised mainly of colonial style homes with beautiful private backyards, many with patios or decks to enjoy the picturesque views of mature trees and landscaping. Many of the homes do back up to open space. True to it's name, Hidden Meadows is a hidden gem among the area. This community is secluded and serene but has easy access to Horsham Township's great t...

My 3 year old Golden Retriever was complaining the other day that I never take him to my title insurance office.  What good is a dog without usable thumbs gonna be at Family Abstract, Inc?    He is 90 pounds of love and muscle and mush!  Arrive on the scene… Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs with a great business plan.  “Our purpose and objective is to help owners of well-behaved dogs, as they share the special love and attention their pets give to them, with other less fortunate individuals”  Reactions to therapy dogs are unmistakable, well documented, and amazing. Not all dogs possess the very special temperament that is necessary to become a therapy dog. However, if a dog has this potential we can help unlock and develop it. We understand how strong the love and bond can be between...

With the “Political Correctness” that abounds all around us, the “House Rules are No Peddlin, No Politikin, and No Preachin at Family Abstract, our Title Insurance office in Horsham Pa. But when the conversation IS about the nation and the economy, when the buyers and sellers are at odds between the candidates, the Realtors are on different sides of the political isle, what are we supposed to do, they are in our conference room. Time to pick sides… but which side? How do you keep the client happy and the clients’ client happy at the same time if politically they appear opposite. I simply asked, “Are you CNN or Fox?” Our unbiased media has saved the day! (The unbiased part is an attempt at humor). Our media, that which is the reporter of the news and NOT the supposed creator of the news ...

Thunder!  Lightening! Winds Blowing! Dog Petrified!  BUT… What exactly is it??  I brought my dog, Cabo to my title insurance office one afternoon as the weather turned dark and stormy.  At the first sign of trouble, Cabo already began to tremble and visible shake.    There was no noise, there was no visible lightning, the storm was still coming and not yet quite here.  But still, he sat and he shook.   Immediately, I “Google” Dog stress and find a plethora of merchandise I can buy from Doggie Downers to a Tight fitting vest, from soothing “bark”  music to sounds of distant storms to help alleviate the condition.   But, what’s crazy is that he reacted to the Lightning more than the thunder or the noise, and upon further watching, I realize that he’s reacting to the lightning before the...

Family Abstract, Inc. a real estate title insurance company in Horsham, PA is again, this year helping promote the CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) Four Seasons Parkway Run and to support the Wylie’s Day Foundation. The Four Seasons Parkway Run is an annual event that raises money to fight childhood leukemia and Wylie’s Team, one of the largest teams to participate, was able to raise $25,000 last year for the cause. The earth shook under my feet while in the middle of writing a comment onActive Rain, in which I was ardently opposed to the original blog and was in the middle of a scathing retort.  In a split second, my focus changed, of course it did, the letters on my keyboard were moving and shaking.  In Eastern Pennsylvaia for my 48 years, I can remember 3 quakes, so it was certainly something different! What went through my mind you ask, I am glad you did!  (I love being the writer).  Wow, this is cool! Hmmmm, the ground seems to be moving! Is this the Big One? I hope someone else can feel this. Alright, quit shaking my chair. How long do these last? If I am the only one that felt it, should I say something? Will the stockmarket crash with the news? And that was only during the tremmor, my after...

Humans helping humans Written By Sarah Boyer, Family Abstract, Inc. Earlier this month there was a tragic accident in my town.  This accident did not involve me or anyone that I know, but in a sense it involved my whole world.  I am saying this because this accident involved a car full of teens; 2010 graduates from my son's high school.  Two of the teens died in this accident and I cannot get them or their families out of my mind. My son will be going for his driving test next weekend; he turns 17 years old next month.  He will be entering his senior year of high school.  This accident has hit too close to home for me.  Bryan is amazingly responsible, but that doesn't stop me from saying before he leaves to go out with his friends things like, "think of the consequences of your actions"...
