Just for fun... The year was 1955, ONLY 60 YEARS AGO!  Did you hear the post office is   thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter? If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.  When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon? Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.  Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President.    I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric. I cannot count the times I hear from potential buyers, "I am looking for a single family home," but when it comes to discussions about what school district they want, I often hear, "Anything but the City!"Why is this?  It seems like everyone has the perception that the city school is a big, bad place where kids are bound to never succeed.  Perception is reality.  However, I am NOT a perceiver.   I have witnessed people perceiving only what they want to see and know there is more to it than that.  I look for the missed beat, the skipped step, the misunderstanding that so many hurry by.I am phlegmatic.  So I decided to test that so-called perception by going to exactly where no one seems to want to send their kiddos, the City School...Our City School is AMAZING!  I learned from the admini... 11/03/2015

The 23rd annual Hinkelfest (hinkel is the Pennsylvania Dutch word for chicken) will be held from Friday, September 12th,  through Sunday, September 14th at Firemans Park, 2652 South Pine Grove Rd. (PA Rte. 343) just south of Fredericksburg. Admission, parking and outdoor entertainment are FREE The hours are Friday from 5:00PM until 9:30PM, Saturday from 8:00AM until 9:30 PM and Sunday from 9:00AM until 4:00PM.
