It's that time of year again!  The 25th Annual Italian Heritage Festival will be held in Downtown Uniontown PA Saturday, August 2nd - 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.  This festival is fun for the whole family.  There will be musicians taking stage at Storey Square and plenty of Italian food vendors.  There will be chairs and tables set up at Storey Square as well as throughout Main Street.  Five Guys Named Moe is scheduled to play.  They are a Pittsburgh-based band that performs old crooner songs in the style of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.  If you will be in the Uniontown Area on Saturday don't miss this festival.

When you visit Uniontown PA, you should be sure to make time to visit the George C. Marshall Memorial off Main Street at the 5 corners.  This Memorial is especially beautiful in the spring and summer months.  General George C Marshall was born in Uniontown PA on December 31, 1880.  He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953 for his Marshall Plan which helped rebuild Europe after World War II.

The Mon/Fayette Expressway - Uniontown to Brownsville project consists of approximately 17 miles of new limited access highway between US Route 119 and PA 51 in Uniontown, to PA Route 88 west of Brownsville.  In addition, West Virginia is also working on a section to connect nearby Morgantown WV to Uniontown, PA.  When all of the Mon/Fayette Expressway projects are completed there will be over 70 miles of continuous limited access highway connecting I-68 west of Morgantown, West Virginia, to the Parkway East (I-376) at Monroeville and Pittsburgh.  Read more information on this project on The PA Turnpike official website
