Zumba!  Yes that's right, Zumba!  This new class at the ACAC Fitness and Wellness Center in West Goshen, is so much fun that you go home humming and dancing as if you've been out to a party!  The teachers are fantastic, the music is very upbeat and it is just the most fun I have ever had in an exercise class.  If you get the chance to try it at your health club, I highly recommend it.

I was perusing the West Chester Borough website and came across the fact there is a select number of eating and drinking establishments in town that are now smoke-free on Thursdays!  This joins a group that are apparently smoke-free all the time! The participating restaurants will display signs to inform the public that Thursdays are now going to be smoke-free!  To see a list of the participating restaurants, go to http://www.downtownwestchester.com/ and scroll down to the article that talks about smoke-free Thursdays! If you don't like cigarette smoke, come on down to the Borough of West Chester!  It's a great little town!

Ladies Night out with the Family.  My daughter put together an evening out with the gals.  We decided to venture to a new place in West Chester, PA, Landmark Americana. View Larger Map 158 West Gay Street, West Chester, PA.  Phone 610-701-9900.Open Mon-Sat 11a - 2am & Sun 12p - 2am.  *We arrived around 6pm and left at 900pm - the college crowd was just arriving - does that make us old? I was the Designated Driver, so I had Sprite and enjoyed it thoroughly.  The others all had all sorts of different drinks.  We shared some appetizers: Nachos, Artichoke Dip, and Cheese Sticks.  All entrees were different - the salads were "ok" made with Iceburg Lettuce - eeee gads! All in all, the food was yummy - and served on square plates - nice touch! The atmosphere was nice as well, dimmed lights, no...

Wow, what a great and amazing area West Chester is......Exton, West Chester, Birmingham, Thornbury, Downingtown.....the "CENTRAL" part of the County!   Not to be trite but LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.On Monday I saw a property appear on the market.  In our multiple listing system you can post a property, ACTIVE, no showings which essentially means that Buyers can be alerted by their Realtors that it is on the market but you can't see it until a certain date. When I saw this property I said, Wow, Smart Seller, pricing it RIGHT, smart AGENT, picking a price that would make this  property a good BUY.  Good thinking.  I tell Sellers all the time, if you want $300, price it at $300, no need to mess around with inflating the price because the Buyer will low ball you.  Fact is, the house will ...

Old Fashioned Christmas....., the Santa parade, the decorations with minitiatures in the store windows, streets decorated, chestnuts roasting on open fires on the street corners, carolers......It is an event and it is on the weekend of December 1st so .....get ready.     It is so fun.  I think this is the 25th year I have attended because I remember having my kids as toddlers sitting, all bundled up, on my husbands shoulders as Santa made his first seasonal appearance in the town we live in..... What a fun occasion!, what a fond memory, so fun to look forward to.  I usually call friends and see if we can pick a street corner to meet up on.We have been doing it for years.                                                                                                                      ...

National housing market problems....hah!Not in our neck of the woods, we are having a wonderful fall market.  For many different types of properties.  I called about a listing today and it has been on the market about 6 days.  Three days ago, it had 6 offers.  Alright, I may have cheated a little, it is a Commercial property but it happened in one of our residential neighborhoods two weeks ago....4 offers in 24 hours. There is not a housing market problem,   another property, my listing, the Sellers wanted it sold in 30 days, it was sold in 21. I love this business, can't go by what you read.

This morning I woke up, the weather was perfect and I looked at the schedule.  For the first time in a while I didn't have anything pressing on the schedule and .........A Road Trip, why not take a road trip for the day.Today I drove with two friends to Galena MD and Chesapeake City.  Lunch overlooking the water on the C and D Canal.  One hour and I could be on a sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay.  That's why it is so nice to live in West Chester, PAAnother reason, It takes an hour and a half to get to Atlantic City and Brigantine in New Jersey on the beach.   Last week it was a day trip to Atlantic City, NJ.  In one hour and half and I can be swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.  And in the winter, it takes only 2 hours to be skiing or snowboarding in the Pocono MountainsLocation, Location , L...

I have been in West Chester all my adult life.  I have seen the transition of the town, hate to admit it, over the past 30 years.   And the good news, the people who were just born 30 years ago, or less,  are bringing the town's popularity to a NEW LEVEL.  I was so taken back last night when I picked my daughter up at the tanning salon and saw the flashing neon sign saying......."Restaurant Festival 9/16/2007, street closed from 6AM to 9PM."  WOW!        Talk about a POPULAR activity.  The Restaurant Festival is Happening!  It is the thing to do, place to go for our area.  A place to show off all of the NEW EATERIES and more established ones.  People come from all over. it is a real event.Even though I have my special secret parking spot I think I won't take any chances this year, I wil...

This weekend is the big "Community Day Event" in West Goshen Park.  Lots of people participate and there are crafters and food stands.  It is on a much smaller scale than the events that take place in the borough of West Chester.  Lots of good FALL Events are happening there. On Thursday evening, Sept 6th the last "SWINGING THURSDAY ENTERTAINMENT EVENT" is happening in downtown West Chester.  This is when they close 2 blocks in the town and have a band and restaurant seating in the streets of the designated blocks.  They do this once a month on the 1st Thursday of the month in Summer months.  This should be extra fun because the college is in session and some of the students may also be uptown as well as "families".From my house in West Goshen, we may even ride bikes to town.  It takes a...

Since I have been selling real estate so long, I some time lose perspective of what people think about when they are deciding where to live and the kind of house they want. This is such a great area to live in, we have so many nice neighborhoods, parks, schools......there are so many nice people in the area.Let me know what is important to you and I can tell you what areas fit your criteria......I have been selling my entire adult life and I really like what I do.It is real busy out there, lots of great homes on the market, priced well.My neighbors house just came back on the market, I don't have a chance to sell it because his brother in law just got in the business but I can tell you about living here, for sure.Hope you check out my web site too.Have a great day!

Town News.... The local university's swim lessons are ones that people wait in line for to get the best schedule/time for their children.  This could happen at any pool - and you should be aware of it as we are in the midst of summer..... Some friends of mine saw the hand written sign..... Due to the storm last night, our filter is broken, we added more chemicals and the pool is fine.  Lessons were not cancelled, and the sign was supposed to explain why the water was 'murky'.Needless to say, pools should not be operated when a filter has malfunctioned in any way.  The filter has a job to do - they filter visable matter out of the pool water. Many children and adults got sick. They did not cancel the swim lessons until they were instructed by the Chester County Health Department.  Channel...

Living in Chester County, Pennsylvania offers the best of many worlds. You get access to major shopping, major sports and major highways. You also get rural, Amish, and small-town neighborhoods. As of today (April 23, 2007) there are 47 homes listed in the MLS as "Active." In the past 12 months, 11 homes have sold per month. It will take 4 months to sell the homes currently listed in West Chester. The good news is that the economy is good, unemployment is low, and mortgage rates are still very low. Get the facts; make wise decisions. If you are going to be buying or selling a home in West Chester or the surrounding area, give me a call. I have access to all the stats that will help to market you home most effectively.  Check out my website. This chart shows what has been happening over...

Recently (November 16, 2006) BusinessWeek.com named West Chester, PA (Where my office is located!) as one of the top 25 best affordable suburbs to live in.  Good Schools, low crime, and proximity to the amenities of the big city (Philadelphia) all contibuted to the rankings. This is good news for home buyers, sellers and investors alike. For Buyers, knowing that you are buying in a low crime area is always good.  The word Affordable is always nice too.For Sellers, it is always nice to have national publications like Business Week promoting your neighborhood.  Anything that drives market traffic to you is a good thing. For Investors, it is good to know that they have chosen an area that is likely to see growth. ________________________________________________________________________________...
