I had buyers looking at a home this weekend near Sameul S. Lewis State Park just across the Susquehanna River from Lancaster County and just outside of Wrightsville, PA.     I have been here before but I forgot how spectacular the views are. Located on Mt. Pisgah which is 885 feet above the Susquehanna River, the park encompasses 85 acres of walking and riding trails, picnic grounds, ball fields and a play ground.   I was fortunate to have the view to myself this weekend.                   So who was Sameul S. Lewis? Samuel Lewis held several positions with the state of Pennsylvania including that of lieutenant governor and donated 35 acres to the Commonwealth of PA in 1954.There is also an arboretum with several unique trees including European beech, persimmon, concolor fir & English y...

With low interest rates, a buyer's market, deflated home prices, and the $8000 tax credit, why are there buyers still on the fence?  If you are one of these buyers reading this, please contact a Realtor--preferably me if you live in the York area :-) !  But anyways, are we in historic times for first time home-buying or what? I would like to just take this space to stir up some conversation about the nature of Gen-Y buyers or should-be-buyers in this market. So we all probably know someone out there, maybe friends or family, who should be making that first home purchase, but they aren't.  Many of my Gen-Y peers make up this population of people not buying.  So why aren't they buying?  Are they ill informed? Do they dislike the idea of maintaining a home?  Or maybe it runs deeper like-- ...

My family & I had a great Labor Day picnic at Samuel S. Lewis State Park in Wrightsville, PA.  Just across the Susquehanna River from Lancaster County, Samuel S. Lewis is 85 acres with an incredible view.  It's worth the drive just to see the vistas of the river and Lancaster County beyond.  We were there for a spectacular sunset which lit up the hilltop park.Samuel S. Lewis State Park is dominated by 885 foot Mount Pisgah.  There is a viewpoint with one of those sets of fixed binoculars that you need quarters to activate - we didn't have any.  Still, the view was wonderful even to the naked eye.  There is about 1 mile of hiking trails with moderate elevation change.  Three picnic pavilions may be reserved up to 11 months in advance  for a fee by calling 1-888-PA-PARKS.  Unreserved picn...
