Aiken is one of the prettiest places to live (if you can't be at the beach or in the mountains!)..   I'm lucky to live near South Boundary Avenue - one of the pretties streets in town.  Lined with Live Oaks that create a beautiful leafy canopy. The perfect place for a stroll, and USA Today agrees!                                                 (South Boundary Avenue, photo taken by me! Please respect copyright rules and do not copy/use for your personal use without permission. Thanks!)   USA Today named it as one of the TOP 10 Prettiest Streets for a Stroll in the South!    Here's a link to the article in our local newspaper:    South Boundary Ave story in Aiken Standard   Call me when you're ready to call Aiken your home!

I have had a dramatic increase in showings at my listings in recent weeks.  Traditionally, my business relies upon referrals and internet 'hits'.  Most of my Buyer clients come to me as a referred client or discover me on-line.  Lately, however, I am experienceing a tremendous rise in the number of 'sign calls.'  These calls are coming from Buyers who are out scanning their favorite neighborhoods, looking for attractive properties.  It is interesting that so many Buyers are now reverting to an old-fashioned method of shopping.  It is a wonderful challenge for me to meet Buyers in person and win them over as new clients.

It's been raining for the past 2 days and today is only different because they are predicting snow tonight.  Yes, you read that correct, snow in southern South Carolina in March.  Anyway, I scheduled an open house for today but am I doing the seller a service by hosting it today in the rain.  Any insite from other agents would be great.

Seems like every 'cottage' has a name here in Aiken. And a story of some sorts behind it.  I had a hard time picking which historic home to enter.  Many of these are on the register of historic homes. Look at a few of my options: Ridgeley Hall.   This is a historic brick home on Berrie Road. An intersting fact about this home is that it was the former home of FDR's mistress, Lucy Page Mercer Rutherford. He visited Aiken quite often. There are a few historic homes in Aiken that have elevators. Ridgeley Hall is one of them. She was with him when he passed, and had to be whisked away very very quickly...or so the story goes.    This is a beautiful house and has quite a story!     Let's Pretend.       This house started as a simple home but was added onto over the years by the different owne...
