It has become almost a tradition after 10 years and many locals look forward to it and many visitors will get a chance to experience the charm and hospitality that is everywhere in Upstate South Carolina! Well it appears that there is going to be a new principal at Forest Acres Elementary. The School District of Pickens County Board of Trustees has just announced that Darian Byrd is going to take over as the principal of Forest Acres Elementary School in Easley. Stephanie Price, current principal, is taking over as principal at McKissick Elementary. Since August 2007 Byrd has been assistant principal at East End Elementary. Before becoming an administrator, he was a band teacher at Liberty Middle School. Byrd graduated from Southern Wesleyan University, where he received a B.A. in music education. Then he received a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from Clemson University. Byrd will take over at Forest Acres on July 1.
