Fallbrook is a new home community in Fort Mill, SC off of AO Jones just behind Nation Ford HIgh School. Nearby neighborhoods include Baden Village and Bexley. Ashford on the Water is a Fort Mill, SC Neighborhood located off of Pleasant Rd. It is just a short distance from Gold Hill Rd and I-77. The neighborhood contains elegant, upscale homes, many of them full brick. A good number of the homes back up to one of two large ponds located in the neighborhood. Most homes in Ashford on the Water are 5-7 years old, but there are still a couple of lots available to build on. The topography is such that some of the lots have a steep elevation. A few of the homes have basements. Most lots are around 1/3 of an acre. As a Realtor, I am often asked if the real estate market in Fort Mill is showing signs of recovery. While this is diffiicult question to answer with a hard yes or no, I am assured that there are signs of improvement and positive growth all around. In reviewing the Carolina Multiple Listing Service data in Fort Mill, the 2011 real estate year showed an 11% increase in homes closed over 2010. There was also a reduction in homes on the market which has created a lessened supply and more demand. The Humane Society of York County is a local, nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter located on RegentParkway just across from the old PTL property. Volunteering as a dog walker is something I did fairly regularly last summer and is something I’ve been meaning to add back into my weekly schedule. My son had expressed an interest in volunteering at the HSYC so together we attended the April volunteer orientation. The HSYC offers a volunteer orientation the first Saturday of every month and attendance at the orientation is required before you can volunteer. They welcome kids volunteering, but they are limited in their volunteer duties. One of the best things about living in Fort Mill, SC is the abundance of fresh, juicy strawberries this time of year. It just doesn'feel like spring has officially arrived until the first bucket of strawberries has been picked at Springs Farm. Due to the mild winter and early spring, strawberry season is in full swing a couple of weeks early this year. Springs Farm has pick your own strawberries available for $10 a gallon. If you want to pick your own, prepay at The Farm Stand at 1010 Springfield Parkway. The fields are just across the street. Hours for picking are 7am-6pm Mon-Sat and 1pm-6pm Sunday.
