Charlotte, NC:   Recently I learned that the most people who are moving to Charlotte, NC and looking to buy a home in Charlotte are coming from ...New York State.  This does not surprise me since we have such awesome weather and a great lifestyle.  What does surprise me is that the most recent transplants I worked with were a retired teacher and retired nurse.  They told me that they could not afford to retire in their Long Island home so started looking south.  She was not in love with the idea.  Her family was in NY ...along with the snow and cold, high taxes and high cost of living, but  she was open minded to coming down.  She loves it here!  They bought a beautiful brand new house for $250,000.  It is a ranch all on one level with a screened porch they can use about 9 months out of... 11/11/2010

On Saturday, November 6, Baxter Village will be hosting it's 10th Annual Fall Festival and Market Day. The event is located on Market Street and will run from noon to 6:00 pm. There is always a HUGE turnout by not only the residents of Baxter Village, but also from families around the area. This year looks to be one of the biggest events so far with turnout expected to be over 3600 people. The Weather Channel is forecasting that the weather should be in the mid-50s with no chance of rain, so it will be perfect for the day's activities. There will be over 160 vendors participating in the event as well as other activities such as moon bounces, slides, hayrides, games and great music from local bands.
