Snow in March? In the South? Pretty wild weather, but we should be getting some snow Sunday night, Monday morning and again Tuesday morning. The mess at the old Victor Mill near Greer is mired in ownership issues.  The mill needs to be cleaned up of toxic materials that have seeped into the ground over the years, but according to county officials, ownership is not clear. The last known owner died several years ago and the company that managed it says they had severed ties with the owner.  Once they get things sorted out, there is a chance for federal funds that will help clean up the site to EPA standards.  With the site cleaned up, expect to see an upward trend in Greer real estate prices in that area.  It's not far from downtown Greer which has been a leader in the growth of homes for sale Greenville South Carolina. 11/04/2008

I moved new home communities about three weeks ago.  During the move, I hurt my neck by lifting and tugging on big heavy boxes.  I did not have the time to find boxes to move with so I scrounged up two from my main office and did the best I could. My muscles were tense and and my neck/shoulder really began to hurt.  I tried Pressure to release the tense muscles, hot showers to loosen it and then finally decided to go to the Chiropracter.  Yesterday I went to see Dr. Karen Thomas in Greer, SC.  She is a non-manipulative chiropracter and always helps wonders.  She uses a clicker (activator method) to put the bones back in place and loosen the muscles.  She makes sure your feet are aligned and she found multiple discs out of place on my spine which I was not aware of.  I think she is aweso... 10/04/2008

A few weeks ago I wrote about the physical charm of my Sugar Creek neighborhood as one of the main factors for selecting it.  I knew four years ago that Sugar Creek in Greer was large (over 600 homes); that it was assigned to one of the best elementary schools around (Buena Vista) and that it was family friendly.  What I didn't know and have been delighted to discover since, is what a nice, old fashioned and actively involved NEIGHBORHOOD this place is. 2008 Home Sales: How is Sugar Creek REALLY Doing? An old adage is that real estate markets are as local as the weather.  We know from all of the hype that the national market is stormy and it's impacting the entire economy.  Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae are troubled and being bailed out by Uncle Sam.  Realtors are notoriously upbeat and it's hard to really know what's happening. Yesterday, I had Todd Usher with Addison Homes come to my house to do a Home Energy Audit.  I didn't know what this was or what to expect! What he did was amazing! He placed a frame inside my front door covered with a red material that reminded me of parachute material.  In the bottom of that cover was a hole where he place a fan that pulled the air out of the house.  Attached to that was an electrical mechanism that had two readings on it and was attached to the fan.  He asked me to turn off the AC Units and make sure all the windows and outside doors were closed. When he turned on the fan, he showed me where the pressure was dropping in the house and told me that the fan would maintain that pressure so he could do the testing.  What Testing??
