I keep hearing people complain about the Compass Rose Park on Pope Avenue & New Orleans Rd. I wonder if the people who are complaining have been to the park. If they had been to the park I don’t believe they would be complaining. The Town of Hilton Head Island and Ed Drain did a wonderful job with designing and building the park. The landscaping has begun to mature and will only get better with time. I went by the other day and took some pictures of the flowers, Wall boards depicting the history of the island, and the statue of Charles E Fraser. Yes, it is a tribute to my family and a well deserved one.
