Fall is here in Handsmill on Lake Wylie! The heat is subsiding and our landscaping is looking fresh. Our clubhouse is well under way.  The basement walls are poured, foundation going in.  We are planning a grand opening of the beautiful swimming pool before the beginning of summer 09, The children's playground is almost complete.  I will update some current pictures soon. I love animals!  This adorable little girl above is my "Baby" her name is Baby.  She is a teacup yorkie.  I am also a vegetarian, I hate the idea of cruelty to animals. Needless to say when we decided to build a "Bark Park" in Handsmill on Lake Wylie I thought it was a great idea. It will be a park where homeowners can come bring their dogs to socialize and so can their owners. It goes along with our concept of Ourdoor Living. When we moved to Lake Wylie 12 years ago, we expected to find a great deal of history on the Civil War. After all, South Carolina was the first State to secede from the Union and was located in the heart of the South. To our surprise, we found that most of the war history related to the Revolutionary War. In fact, most of the battles and skirmishes of the Revolutionary War took place in South Carolina, not New England. The turning point of the Revolutionary War was the one hour Battle of Kings Mountain on October 7, 1780.
