Congratulations to all the OLYMPIANS! I just had a tet to tet with my 26 year old grandson on Facebook. I was reading his posts and saw an ongoing posting on Canada vs. U.S. during the final hockey game with one of his friends.  Now nobody wants their Grandma jumping in (I usually stay outta there) but since I was born Canadian and was naturalized American , I thought I would put in a plug for Canada anyway.   I informed him he might be 1/4 Canadian. He quickly brought to my attention that it was not a race but a nationality and he was 100% American. The game ended with Canada out front and with the Gold. He said he was going out for Chinese! (I think he confuses me, even if he is right.)  I am proud of all the Americans and the Canadians and for all of the athletes who put forth so muc...

With the current debate over health care I thought it is a great time to pass on some news about some FREE help for staying healthy. The AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour will be making a stop in Seneca on Aug. 13 at the Walgreens at 1601 Sandifer Blvd. It is scheduled to be there between noon and 6 p.m. The Wellness Tour offers all adults 18 and over six free health screenings: bone density, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, waist circumference and body mass analysis. I keep telling everyone how lucky we have been that we are not experiencing the real estate trouble that every news channel and newspaper has been reporting for years.  This is still true!  However, we have had some slow down.  Lots of reasons for this:  lots of people selling and buyers want to look at EVERYTHING available before making a decision, interest rates have been volatile so it might get better, outsiders are looking for deals and our community hasn't had to "deal" in most markets, financing keeps getting a little harder to get especially for imperfect credit, the growth we experienced the last few years was not the extreme growth experienced in the areas now experiencing the serious drops in values.  But, when is the last time we saw 5.5% interest?  And I have never heard of...
