Thanksgiving is a time to set aside time to give thanks for our blessings.   God has been very good to my family and I am very thankful for my husband and children. No matter what have each other, and although money is tight we do have a home and food and each other!  I am most thankful that God always looks after us and has never left our side.  We are very fortunate and very blessed.  Please take time to be with your family and give thanks for your blessings!  You can choose to be unhappy and worried about the economy and future but what could taking one day to forget and celebrate hurt?  Why not take one day to let it go, and spend time with family and friends remembering how fortunate you really are, I am sure  that everyone no matter how bad our economy has been lately could find s...

Time has gone fast in  Active Rain.  I just noticed I hit the 50,000 point mark tonight. It seems like a big milestone when you start off at 200 points.  i earned these points on my own, without a team writing for me.  I have written from the heart and I know I have made some mad when I refused to back down with my religious beliefs, and feeling about Christianity, but with wonderful groups that support you, you know it is worth every word.  Thanks to all that have supported my blog and encouraged me through hard times in sales and business, I feel that we have seen each other through a lot I hope we all can sit back and enjoy thanksgiving knowing just how blessed we all really are.  take time to count your ...

We saw the sign on the bus in the capital that declared there was no God and stop worrying and have fun, have they lost there minds.  I can't even believe that the bus system would except money for the advertisement.  The humanist organization is  out to get members and this is the way they are going to do it.  We all need hope and faith, now these idiots are going to put there junk on a bus.  The bus rolls through city streets and a lot of low income areas, so is this  what the humanist want to do, is attract people without a lot to give up, and  hope and faith.  I bet if they put that bus in Greenville SC, some would protest and have the sign removed.  This is just another way to take God out of Christmas and our lives . This is really sad, our country has no morals or ethics left. I ...

In case you have not heard or found out the hard way there is a nasty flu like virus going around already.  Everyone is coughing, sneezing and has a sore throat.  All last week I noticed that people were acting under the weather in Greenville.  So yesterday both my kids that are in high school wake up with it. First my daughter came down telling me she was sick, she even called and canceled a date at 10 am, he said he felt bad too and understood  I grabbed the Lysol and got out the disinfectant and started wipe things off when my son called from work and ask me to bring him medicine he felt terrible. Oh my gosh!  He came home at 5 and needed more medicine his throat and head was killing him!!  Last night my 3 of my daughters friends texted and said they were sick.  So I guess you get th...

Ready for a treat!  The weather is warm and the colors are beautiful.  Time to bring Oct to and end and ret ready for Fall and Thanksgiving!  Don't forget that Saturday night before you go to bed to set the clocks back, and check the batteries in your smoke detectors!!  You get a extra hour of sleep, but It gets dark at 5:30.  I kinda wished we did not set the clocks back.  I love to smell the fall air, it smells like warm and cozy fires, not everyone like the cool, It reminds them that cold is coming soon!!  My husband hates the cold and had rather smell fresh ocean smells and warm air. But everyone gets a chance to experience there favor season in the south.  We are lucky  enough to really have 4 different seasons in SC. Each one brings different adventures and chores to do, but t...

Our neighborhood has decided that we will start a neighborhood wide community watch program.  With the rise in theft and crime we as a group decided that it was time for us to give back to the community.  Living in a smaller town you become secure and don't think about someone coming into the neighborhood with the intent o stealing or vandalism.  We have only had egging and petty stuff, but officers with the Travelers Rest police pointed out some risky things that neighbors are doing that leaves themselves wide open .  Here are a few you might want to bring up with your community.  The police notices the following things:  Also we were told that there are predators riding around looking for young girls, they are often kidnapped an...

When you have a realative in Hospice, you know your time is coming to a end soon and you must make good use of  time.  I wrote a blog about Jospeph called the Bucket list a few weeks ago.  Joseph and his best friend since childhood  Harry have worked hard on a bucke tlist since they  found out about his health issues.  Josephs heart was failing and they couln't do anything to help him.  He was in renal failure and was growing sicker evrey day.  When I left Thursday afternoon I said see you tommorw and he said If I am here.  That worried me all night and I called him 3 times Thursday eveniung, each time he was fine and watching TV.  They called me Fraiday morning at 12:30 and told me of his death.  I dreaded calling his friend Harry...

looking for a great place to live.  Check out the Upstate area of SC.  The Greenville area is  fast growing and the economy is doing good.  There is tons of new building still going on.  This area is surrounded by smaller communities.  I love this because you can be in downtown in a few minutes, but have a community type , smaller living area. I love the North Greenville area because It is a true hidden secret.  If only takes about 7-8 minutes to get to downtown, but there are so many nice neighborhoods and shopping areas that you can live, shop and go to church in your close community.  Travelers Rest was know to be small and out dated years ago, but if your haven't checked out the area you are missing out.   Come see what we have to offer you will be happy you took the time!  Had you ...

Price Gouging is not fair and It hurts the economy.  Why did the price of gas rise 30 cents when the storm is 200 miles out.  They are driving the market once again.  I remember during Hugo people were arrested for price gouging.  The gas light came on , so I started looking for gas on the way home from NC. Three stations were out of gas.  The one I found had a line, but I had no choice but to join them.  I did not want to run out on the 15 mile stretch of nothing but woods I was about to go into .  I watched a guy change the price while I was sitting at the pump.   People were mad and a lot of people ask him what was up.  He said the Hurricane is driving prices up.  I think he knew the others were out of gas and he was going...

Someone went into the student parking today and wrote racist, nasty ,vulgar remarks on kids cars.  They spray painted with black paint on cars park right out in the open.  I can't believe someone with such limited intelligence would do so much damaged.  One kid was drivinghis dads new  white truck.  The car next to my sons mustang had vulgar remarks all over it.  My son was upset, and is afraid to drive his carback to school this week, for fear of more damages.  These kids have after school jobs and have to pay for there cars just like adults.  Now they have damage to there cars they can't afford to pay, some kids only have basic insurance.  It seems they are playing a rival football team this week, and have beat the last 2 teams, it is felt it was done over this.  Parents need to know ...

Greenville City as put a curfew on downtown Greenville for kids under 18 for downtown falls area.  To many unsupervised kids were hanging out in groups and roaming around.  I don't thinkI would  ever let my kids just hang out downtown.  Are parents not afraid of there kids getting hurt, or kidnapped?  We saw some middle school kids walking up and down the sreet one night, that is just asking for trouble.  SO what is your opinion.  Curfews or not?

I was at a ball game in Travelers Rest Friday night.  It started to rain and the action slowed down.  A group of kids were sitting behind me and they were talking about the economy and how hard it was to get to do things.  A student said she spent her last $5.00 to come to the game.  Here parents have told her she must have a part-time job to pay for extras and gas. A few agree times were hard and one kid said well, It's like my mom said dad will just have to work longer because he is suppose to support us.  I thought my husband was going to fly apart as well as a few parents.  But saved by 3 students who chimed out, who's going to help your dad when your selfish acts kill him, get a job and do your part, maybe your mom will learn from it. I thought, kids really do listen , you are sett...
