Late Fall Weather in Clarksville TNIn Clarksville TN during the fall you may think it is still summer because temps sometimes linger in the 80's and 90's. Then wait a few days and the weather will change and the first frost comes around the first of November. Don't expect it to stay that way for good because it will again warm up and may even fool the plants and flowers which could give it another whirl. There are four distinct seasons throughout the year. The fall is my favorite season and late fall makes me a little sad. The trees have already had their show of color and the daylight hours are short. Winter is days away but there still may be moments of crisp air and shirtsleeve weather to come on some of the remaining days in 2017.   In winter, there are cold days with temps getting d...

Live Christmas Trees in Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN has many options when it comes to finding a fresh Christmas tree. Almost every corner in town has a tree lot and most of the big box stores and grocery stores are also selling trees. Don't forget that another good source is the local nurseries and landscape businesses. I like nothing better than the smell of balsam or pine and the natural look a real tree. Prices seem to be up this year over past years but that will not stop those that want to keep a real tradition in place. Here are the names of the local nurseries, Wofford's Nursery, Mary's Garden and Larry's Nursery. Their stocks look very healthy and they have some trees you can plant or that come in a container. That is a good way to be environmentally friendly. To cut a tree yo...

It's been a fun weekend seeing people stop at the Christmas tree lots and pick that special tree to take home. I have passed many cars with trees on top and most of the homes in my neighborhood are lit up and have wreaths on the door. It's time to get the decorations up as Christmas Day is just 3 weeks away. I'm talking to myself here. Tomorrow is the day I'll get my tree up and some other seasonal decorations. It will help put me in the Christmas spirit.

The Best Time to List Could Be Right Now The holidays are here and some people think that is at cross purposes with selling a home. The good news is that is could be an even better time to sell your home because it is the holiday season. Take a look at what actually happens in the minds of buyers and how that can help sellers get their homes sold.  People are generally happy during the holidays. They may be looking for that perfect home and call it their perfect Christmas gift. We don't want to disappoint. Some agents say December is their busiest month meaning buyers are buying. Decorated homes engage the emotions. Buyers may relate or feel more connected to a tastefully decorated home. Remember emotions buy!   Fewer homes on the market mean less competition. If you wait until after th...

Another Sold Home in Farmington ClarksvilleAnother new home in Farmington Subdivision is closed. I am proud to have helped a relocating family find a home that meets their needs and lights up their eyes. 151 Overcrest Ct. is a beautiful home located in a cul-de-sac in the back part of the subdivision. The home is new and has many very desirable features. I particularly like the see-through fireplace between the dining and living room. It has a pretty picture window overlooking the covered back porch and open land in the back. This home has four bedrooms and 3 full baths.  A bonus room is upstairs and will be the place the children will hang out. The colors and decor are very tasteful with a pretty white kitchen.Lots of hardwood and tile floors give this home a nice clean look. Search hom...

280 Cheshire Dr., Clarksville TN 37043 Is SoldThe seller had this home looking market ready and when my buyer saw it she loved what she saw. It is a pleasure to work with buyers that take my professional advice and do what is necessary to navigate a smooth transaction. Pretty cabinets in the kitchen and 2 pantries turned the buyers head. There are double sinks in both baths. A room was added at the back of the house which will make a nice dining room or possible sitting room. This is a 3 bedroom home with a full basement and two-car garage. This will give plenty of room for storage or a workout area. 280 C...

Open to the Public in Downtown CommonsIf ice skating is your sport and you have been wishing for a place to skate close to home then your wish has been granted. In Downtown Commons Clarksville, the seasonal ice skating rink opened the Friday after Thanksgiving and will be open until January 31st.It is going to be a hit in Clarksville and is totally the result of the hard work of Montgomery County's Mayor and the Two Rivers Company, a non-profit organization which is focused on bringing business and activities to Downtown Clarksville. There was a lot of controversy about the County being instrumental in  opening a park in the Downtown area. But as the County Mayor says, this is the heart and center of the county.Money raised will be used for maintenance other events and activities in the...

Small Business Saturday, November 25 in Clarksville TNSaturday, November 25th is Small Business Saturday in Clarksville TN. Small businesses struggle because they don't have the buying power of the big box stores. Help them keep their doors open and support their businesses. In Clarksville TN you can support small businesses by eating out, shopping and using small locally owned service companies. Take a look at some of my recommendations. The Roxy Regional Theater- This community and regional theater offers musicals and quality plays throughout the year. This weekend is a great time to buy season passes so you'll not miss a single show. All the shows at the Roxy are excellent productions and it's great entertainment. This is a creative idea for a special unique gift. The tickets are only...

Who Checks the Home Inspector's Work?I never like to hear the words, the home inspector should have found this. We realize, nobody is perfect and even a home inspector can miss obvious items. What do you do if an apparent repair issue is not reported by the inspector and now the day after closing the buyer discovers it? Should the inspector be held accountable? In my opinion, when a buyer pays several hundred dollars for a thorough home inspection, all obvious and even not so obvious repair issues should be discovered and listed on the report. Most buyers do not have the skill to be able to discern what is a real problem and what is not, therefore, they pass this responsibility on to someone trained and licensed to do it. That is the home inspector's job and what he is being paid to do. ...

We have had storms and winds and wide swings in temperatures the last few days. With Thanksgiving tomorrow I wanted to share a few things I am thankful for. For days I have been reading thankful posts and they have been a blessing to me. If you have written some of those posts and I have not yet commented, I will soon, I promise.I am thankful for the skies, the clouds, the sunsets, sunrises and the blues that surround the clouds. No matter if it is a clear day or threatening a storm, I can still appreciate the beauty and the ever-changing skies of Clarksville TN.They say, if you don't like the weather, just wait a few hours or a day or two and it will be totally different. Cold is on the way again and I will appreciate that too.
