(HOME STYLE AND STAGING LLC )
NORTH KNOXVILLE HOME STAGING was recently done by HOME STYLE AND STAGING LLC  MARY LOU TEAGUE... SOLD WITHIN 3 WEEKS OF STAGING ! A while back, I was contacted ( through Active Rain ) by a seller to stage her mother's older home.  Since she lived out of town, I had work directly with the Realtor.  I did the walk thru, make the presentation, and got the job for "Vignette Staging".   The home was older, but has some very well done upgrades. Even with the upgrades the home is still an older home. I decided to place more modern accessories in the home just to see how it would go over.  After I did the staging the Realtor  had an open house the next day. She feels that this really helped to show the house,as before it was staged, there were only a few glass vases with silk flowers placed aro...

I counted the property transfers published by the Knox County Register of Deeds for the previous week and found 186 which is a little above the 150 or so average we’ve had for all of 2009 so far. It seems the extension of the homebuyers tax credit is continuing to drive the lower end of our market (the $200,000 and under price points) and the upper end remains sluggish. I’ve been reading lots of encouraging news about real estate markets all across the county and how they’re seeing increases in sales. Our market has shown one encouraging sign in the past 2 months in that sales have remained high instead of taking their usual seasonal downturn in the fall and winter months. Let’s hope that trend continues, in past recessions real estate has been the force that drove the recovery. Read mo...

The National Association of Realtors says: “For the first time in five years, existing-home sales have increased for four months in a row.” Wow, that's sounds pretty exciting after month after month of: "worst market in 30 years", "record foreclosures", "mortgage crisis worsens", and lots of other dismal headlines. So is the good news really good news or maybe just a seasonal 'bump' that happens around this time every year and will soon revert back to business as usual (relatively speaking)? Here's a graph comparing Knoxville, Tennessee area sales through July of 2009 to previous years So yeah, Knoxville, Tennessee area sales have increased every month so far this year. HOWEVER (and it seems there is usually a "however"), if you compare sales this year to historical sales data for the p...

Knoxville, TN Mortgages Knoxville Tennessee mortgages are easy to obtain for many reasons least of which is that the real estate market here in Knoxville has remained fairly stabile compared to many parts of the country.  While parts of the country saw double-digit home inflation through the years 2003-2006, Knoxville home values rose at a more modest pace of 5-6% per year. In keeping with Knoxville area wages and salaries this balance has made the area a good bet for people moving here from other parts of the country. It has allowed people seeking Knoxville, TN mortgages an easier time in finding good mortgage terms.  Yes, the housing market collapse and the mortgage industry implosion have had an affect on the market here; Knoxville still remains a destination for many people seeking...

With today's market I thought this previous post would be worth recycling. In our area we have a problem with this fungus/algae that grows on roofs and makes them look old and worn when actually an economical removal treatment can make them look almost new again. A huge part of getting buyers interested in looking inside a house is attractive curb appeal. Unfortunately in many parts of the country there are unsightly stains and discoloration on roof shingles that make even the most manicured landscaping lose some of it's luster once the buyer's eyes turn upward and see an ugly roof. A lot of those black streaks and stains are called by a type of 'roof algae' whose scientific name is Gloeocapsa Magna. Fortunately there is a solution; Roof-A-Cide has an environmentally safe, EPA Approved ...
