Nashville, TN Real Estate News

You’re not cool unless you have multiple sources of income. Oh yeah! THAT’S the key to wealth . . . prosperity. I hear this everywhere. “Get rich Gurus” proselytize this great wisdom as being the magic pill. The more streams you have, the better. If one stream loses steam and dwindles to a trickle (or loss), theoretically, the other streams will take up the slack and keep you in the GREEN. But WAIT! What happened to “FOCUS on the ONE thing” line of thinking? Most of these same gurus are preaching the importance of focusing, with intensity, on that ONE niche pursuit . . . and work diligently – persistently – consistently over time to achieve MASTERY! Mastery is the Golden Egg! It’s the “place” where you enter flow and reap what you’ve sown through the years. Can you have both? Can you ha...

This has gone too far (click the link for Seth's post) There IS such a thing as “TOO BIG” in Corporate America. I know – This is Capitalism at it’s finest. Big fish eat little fish! ENOUGH ALREADY! We don’t have to put with these corporate MONSTERS anymore. Lucky ME! I hit the lottery last week, so the dogs and I are packing up and moving off the grid to a small island in the Pacific Northwest. Of course, Pareto Realty will still thrive because I can be Broker from there. What’s YOUR plan? We all play by other people’s rules, but only because we have to in order to conduct the business we are conducting. All professionals and organizations have processes for everything they do. The more “dialed in” these processes are, the smoother doing business with them becomes . . . or not! Who are the beneficiaries of “the way we do things around here”? Are the processes designed for the benefit of the Organization or the client/customer? Does the business owner develop and “enforce” their “rules of engagement” with the intent to deliver a smoother and more hassle free experience for the people they serve? or Does she design these processes to streamline the work flow so as to increase capacity for volume of sales? or BOTH! There’s an interesting thread in a Facebook Group for REALTO...

The Right People Always Show up!. . . but what if the wrong people show up? The title says: “The Right People ALWAYS Show Up!“ There’s a strong implication, then, that it’s not possible for the WRONG people to show up? WHOA! Let’s pause, regroup, and consider the mental chaos that might be happening in our reasonable minds. Let’s start at the beginning! You have this GREAT idea for this passion of yours to make a difference in your community. This is an important issue that, you feel, is grossly under-served . . . How ’bout the rapid disappearance of affordable housing in the city? As more people move into the city, EVERYTHING is getting more expensive. With more population comes more commercial development to serve these new residents thereby necessitating more “workers” (Restaurants, ...

Pathological liars are those people who both knowingly and intentionally or willfully make false statements. Normal lies are defensive and are told to avoid the consequences of truth telling. … It is when an individual consistently lies for no personal gain.  hypocrites are those people who pretendto have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc, that they do not actually possess, especially those whose actions belie stated beliefs. The Cost of Living in Nashville TNIn this video, I examine the cost of living in Nashville. As a native Nashvillian, I remember how affordable Nashville used to be. If you are a native Nashvillian (or been here at least 10 years), and you make the median income of native  Nashvillians of approximately $49900, then you are probably struggling with the cost of living in Nashville. Currently, the median home price in Nashville is $259000.  (I believe this number is much higher, much closer to $300,000) Using this $259000 median price for a home, you need an annual income of at least $70150.  So right there you're already $20k short. And renting is even worse. One bedroom apartments that used to rent for $795 in March 2014 now costs $1294 per month. And increase of $502.  A 2 bedroom apartm...

“Geeesh! Some people just seem to have ALL the luck . . . . . . While the rest of us can’t seem to win for losing.” “If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.” Well, I hate to be the party pooper breaking up the whine-fest, but we ALL must take responsible for our role in the amount of luck (Good or Bad) in our daily lives. DISCLAIMER: This blog post ignores the lightning strike or hit the lottery luck . . . That stuff just happens, and we’ve gotta roll with those punches and show the world our resilience and grace. Almost 10 years ago, I was “down on my luck”. I was working many hours every day for not enough pay at a job that was not satisfying because I didn’t have the freedom to succeed (or so I thought). I wanted to be an entrepreneur, a mentor, coach, and consultant. We...

“Perpetual motion is motion of bodies that continues indefinitely. A perpetual motion machine is a hypothetical machine that can do work indefinitely without an energy source. This kind of machine is impossible, as it would violate the first or second law of thermodynamics. (wiki)” I beg to differ . . . When it comes to generosity, the source IS the means. The results of Generosity are multi-faceted – Gratitude, graciousness, good will . . . and infinitely available. What’s “impossible” is the ability to measure the impact of generous energy/acts. That which we cannot measure, we humans often relegate to the archives as being “impossible” because we are compelled to be “reasonable” . . . to stay between the lines . . . not to cross the boundaries of possibilities. I believe an act of ge...

Getting by with a little help from your friends is shameless! If you hail from the old school thinking that ABMS (all by myself) is the ONLY way, I invite you now to considering a little “re-programming” in that noggin of yours. The DIY (Do it yourself) thing was, for years, a cool and shiny and hip challenge for all of us to awaken the Renaissance Man within. Ah yes! We ALL can be master craftsfolk overnight after acquiring the appropriate DIY for Dummies Book and the recommended “professional” tools from the local big box hardware store. There’s an inherent flaw in that social movement that has proven to be a veritable financial windfall for the real professionals who receive “that call” from “that guy/Gal” who tackled a purportedly “simple DIY job” which took a turn for the worse res...

Shake things up! Make a ruckus! Break the mold! Upset the apple cart! Dare to . . . ! Question everything! Quit being so damned responsible and predictable! How scary would this be? What’s the worst that could happen? What’s the BEST that could happen? What would other people think? What matters most? Doing what you are doing where and with whom, are you feeling fulfilled? If not . . . what can you imagine might be different – better? I hereby challenge you to sequester yourself from the fray, for as long as your circumstances permit, to consider the possible ramifications of stirring your pot. You’ve really got nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain. You might discover that your current way is spot on. That’s wonderful validation that can, in and of itself, provide a lift to your drive...

Nashville, TN - Dependable Homebuyers in Nashville is now offering a home selling solution for those homeowners dealing with structural damage in their homes. No one wants to imagine the possibility that their home has experienced structural damage. This is something that can occur in the aftermath of a major natural event, such as an earthquake, or perhaps flooding. At the same time, structural damage can occur over a significant period of time. This is when minor, unseen damage slowly erodes at the foundation of a home, or with some other aspect of the property. This is why many contractors and home builders tell homeowners to have their properties regularly inspected for such possibilities.Unfortunately, many homeowners don’t. The end result can be a situation in which a homeowner wa...

Bank foreclosure is imminent if homeowners continue to fail repaying the mortgage. Several missed payments and the bank will send relevant notices. These are warnings that will inevitably culminate in a foreclosure notice. Some homeowners manage to modify their loans or go for refinancing. Some homeowners successfully improve their financial condition and resume paying the installments. Many homeowners in Nashville have had to deal with foreclosures in recent years. The unfortunate consequence of a foreclosure is that a homeowner is left without a house and there is absolutely no return on the investment and the recurring expenses that have been incurred till the last paid installment.Homeowners often contemplate upon the option of selling their house during a foreclosure. It takes time...
