Falconhead West is a growing community in Bee Cave TX and building new homes right and left.  Falconhead West is located just West of the Falconhead community and the Falconhead Golf Course. Even though the newest phase of building has already begun, and there is still another phase that isn't ready to start, there are already Resale homes on the market.  Many people think this is odd since it's a brand new community, but brand new to whom?  The Falconhead West community started in 2007 with it's first sales in 2008. Falconhead community in Bee Cave - Ausin TX is confusing me right now... We are currently in mid-March and the below chart shows the Falconhead activity since the beginning of the year. As you can see, only one property has sold this year, with three that are contract pending (those are the three immediately to the left of the red sold property).  Why am I confused? Every time I put in an offer, my buyers end up in a multiple offer situation.  There are over 20 properties for sale, yet my buyers always choose the ones that other people want as well. Falconhead West in Bee Cave TX, just West of Austin, is still building up a storm.  Brand new streets have been poured, and still a couple more to go. This community, MY community, never had a slow-down like other communities did across Austin or Texas. The community is now three years old, and this is when turnover starts to happen. I wanted everyone to know that if you don't have the time to build a new house, there are some resale properties available as well. The City of Bee Cave and the Hill Country Galleria are teaming up to host a parade on January 16, 2011 at 2pm for the 2010 State Champion Lake Travis High School Lady Cavelier Volleyball team and the 4-time Class 4A State Champions football team! Building a New Construction home can be a good experience, or it can be a frustrating experience. It almost depends on how much of the process you see and pay attention to. Many people building a home very rarely stop by the house to check on it and see the progress. Others like to visit at least once a week and give the builder a list of issues each time. A few months ago, I posted about a house being built across the street from me and how the plumbing was protruding through the slab that was poured.  I really thought they would redo something in this spot, but all they ended up doing was covering it up. Hill Country Galleria - Bee Cave Austin TX - Trick or Treating on Saturday, October 30. Actually, there will be activities all day.  This is a picture of Alyssa at the Galleria last year! Man, has she changed! From 10am-9pm, there will be Eurobungee and a Rock Climbing Wall. Wish I could do that, but I'm sure my belly would get in the way! From 3pm-7pm, there will be Bat Puppet Crafts by Art Attack. Art Attack is fun as we've gone several times to make ceramics with hand and feet prints. At 3pm, there is a Dance Performance by Put Art in Your Heart. Alyssa is actually starting this program at the first of the year and is excited! Falconhead West - Bee Cave Austin TX - Fall Festival is November 7th from 2-5pm at the new Community Park. This is the second annual Fall Festival as the neighborhood continues to build out, and the builders are building rapidly. Things to look forward to are Face Painting, Bounce Houses, a Rock Wall, Amy's Ice Cream, Pizza, and clouds of sugar known as Cotton Candy.If you're new in the neighborhood, this is a great opportunity to meet some of your neighbors. Michaels Arts and Crafts held a very cool demo workshop today. It was Big Sister and Big Brother art class to make a project to welcome home the new baby.  We made two canvases with our hand prints as fish. Alyssa had a blast! It looked like so much fun, I decided to make one with a big mommy fish and we'll put the pictures on the wall like a two piece mural. Michaels had projects all week as it was Baby Week, but I didn't know until yesterday so we missed out on a lot of cool projects. Some of you saw the posting on Facebook, while others who aren't my "friend" have not seen the news... I went ahead and chopped my hair off! I didn't go as short as I initially thought I would. I thought I would go above the ears. I chickened out!!  But that's ok, because the length turned out great. I'm not partial to the curly version, so after a couple of hours of trying to get used to it, I washed it and straightened it. MUCH Better!! Some people have been confused about the length. Yes, curly hair shrinks and is shorter than when it's straight. Why? I think that's physics 101. You take a straight line and then put bends and twists in it. The creatures of Austin strike again... look what joined me at dinner... I thought it was dead as it looked curled up, but I touched it with a knife and it sprinted to the other side frantically trying to get up the wall. Lake Travis Independent School District has just announced that they received the highest honor a school district can receive in the state of Texas, Exemplary!!  Over the years, many of the schools within the district have been rated Exemplary, but the entire district as a whole has never received this honor until now.  Every single school in the entire district is rated as Exemplary except for two, and they are rated the second highest rating of Recognized.This is the main reason my family moved into the Lake Travis ISD, because the schools are very highly rated and the students are high-achievers.  Why pay for private school when you live in such a great public school district?  What makes for an Exemplary rating by the state? The Bee Cave Public Library at the Hill Country Galleria is holding their awards ceremony and concert with Joe McDermott on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 1pm.  I'm thinking we're going to have to not do a nap that day in order to make it. What awards? The Summer reading awards!  All children in the area who read for at least 400 minutes thus far this summer, and actually turned in their reading logs, will all receive an award of a Reach for the Stars t-shirt and other prizes. After awards are handed out, there is a concert at 2pm with Joe McDermott, a children's singer/song writer. I'm betting there are going to be a couple of hundred kids running around enjoying this time. New Construction Homes - Austin TX Home Builders - A couple of weeks ago, I posted a picture showing a mistake the builder made when doing the plumbing and pouring the slab. The picture of this new construction home shows the plumbing outside the edge of the concrete slab. How do you think the builder dealt with this issue??  Take a look below... You'll notice that they went right on with what they were doing and put the outside, protective water barrier up against this plumbing issue. You'll also notice that from the inside picture, the barrier has been damaged as the plumbing is not flush, and you can see light coming in from below. This is not good.
