The small town of Boerne dates back to 1851.  It was founded by German immigrants that obviously knew a good thing when they saw it, and Boerne came into being as a small settlement in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. One of the great ways to get to know the town is to step off of main street and enjoy many of the trails that snake around and through the town.  One of these trails is the Old No. 9 trail. A path whose roots began as a simple walking path. From that simple path, the trail eventually evolved into a wagon trail for immigrants.   The trail was known as the Old San Antonio Highway or the Old Fredericksburg Road and was the main wagon trail going from San Antonio to Fredericksburg.  But time marches on... The Hill Country Daily Bread is a faith-based,regional ministry that provides support to more than 8,200 people in the Texas Hill Country.  Located in Boerne, TX, HCDB serves Kendall and 7 other surrounding counties: Bexar, Bandera, Kerr, Comal, Gillespie, Uvalde, and Medina.  The HCDBM works with local churches and has basically eliminated the church based food pantry.  Mentors sign up to work with families and deliver food to their house at designated times.  The idea is to form a lasting relationship and support through a faith-based mentor. There are ample opportunities to volunteer in food delivery logistics and multiple mentoring opportunities. Well, here I am, (Traci Frasier) trying to write a blog post.....the problem is, I'm not much of a writer, actually, not a writer at all. Reading, that's the ticket for me. Give me a good book with a mystery, murder, and some romance, and I'm enthralled. It seems to be such an incredible thing to write, and so very intimidating, but enough about my love of books. Let's talk real estate. Now, that is something fun. When flipping though the TV channels, it seems that my clicker goes to HGTV without hesitation. When on the computer, Pinterest holds my interest. Special Government Home Renovation Loan Program with Boerne TX FHA 203k Loans.     Many are not aware of a special government loan program that is actually a part of FHA (Federal Housing Administration- a department within HUD). The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) staff will conduct a Traffic Congestion and Safety Workshop at the Boerne Civic Center (820 Adler Rd., Boerne, TX) on June 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. Residents that drive, walk, ride or use transit are encouraged to join the MPO at this important public meeting as they update the region's long range transportation plan. Attendees will receive an MPO overview briefing and then will be asked to share their traffic congestion concerns during a mapping exercise. Participants will tell the MPO where, when and for how long they experience traffic congestion.
