God only knows...I wonder the same thing.  When I wonder about things like our current economy I turn to people who know a little more about these things than I do.  Dave Ramsey is one of these people.  Here is an exert from a recent post by Dave Ramsey  Dave's Thoughts About the Economy Over the past month, we've witnessed the largest bankruptcy in history, the stock market dropping like a rock, and the talking heads on TV freaking out that the world is coming to an end. I'm here to tell you the truth-we're going to make it. We're going to be fine. Take a chill pill. This month I've compiled some of the most-asked questions I've gotten recently from you: Are we okay, Dave? Definitely. Remember Enron and WorldCom in the recent years? We survived that. But much worse than all this was th...

How much does a free Banana tree cost...? My Dad gave me a banana tree last year that he dug it out of his own yard.  If you have ever had a banana tree then you know they reproduce at an alarming rate.  I gladly accepted this free plant.  I have a huge yard and the owners before me did not care much for outdoor living...I however, am the opposite.  Recently when I was over at my Dad's house I noticed that his banana tree was about 12 feet tall (seriously).  My bananas tree or rather my field of banana trees are only about 3 feet tall.  Naturally, the question I asked was "Dad, why is your banana tree so much bigger than mine?"  Well, I found that he waters his every day and he only focuses on that one tree.  I on the other hand do not; I try to keep them all going at once.      Banana ...

Finally... another picture of one of the awesome townhouses that will soon be hidden away behind this entry wall.  This new Townhouse neighborhood will be pouring slabs for its first seven buildings during the next few weeks. So... you ask... what wonderful homes are going to be behind this entry wall?  Will they be just another bunch of average, run-of-the-mill townhouses ?  Another cookie-cutter "project" like most townhouse "projects" look.  Well... look for yourself !                  This gorgeous picture is another of the eight different "front elevations" that will dot this gorgeous upcoming Carrollton neighborhood.  The above building shows what very much appears like about a five-thousand square foot single family home... except that it isn't !  Above we have a "three townhouse...

Sneak Preview !  For all those buyers out there in apartment land... something new and really great has come upon the New Homes horizon.  A new kind of townhouse... made just for Texas. One of the drawbacks for many Texans as far as townhouses have been concerned... is that just about everyone who is interested in a townhouse... wants an end unit. Usually, townhomes are built with anywhere from six to eight units in each building... which obviously means that out of an eight dwelling building, only two townhouses can be "end units." Well... that is about to change.  There is a major new neighborhood just about ready to break ground in the wonderful, close-in city of Carrollton, Texas.  It will be an entirely townhouse neighborhood... but with one major exception not normally found in a ...

Leukemia is a deadly disease, a cancer of the blood and/or bone marrow.  There are various forms of leukemia.  Some are incurable, but most are treatable with modern medicine.  As you can imagine, the hospital bills for the treatment can be horrendous.  Sadly, one of my friend's little brother has recently been diagnosed with leukemia.  To help with the mountains of medial bills that are beginning to pour in, Chick-fil-A has pledged to donate 15% of all sales to the McFadden Medical Fund to help Jason and his family. Chick-fil-A has some of the best fast food around.  It's a favorite of my family, and the menu has wide variety of different tastes for every palate.  If you happen to be in Carrollton, stop by the Chick-fil-A located at 2652 Old Denton Road and order something to eat, drin...

Carrollton Texas is located conveniently between Dallas, Farmers Branch, Plano and Irving. Highway 635--a main Dallas artery running east to west--stretches through the center of Carrollton. Many of the homes in Carrollton are older homes in well-established neighborhoods, however, there are new home communities in northern Carrollton. Farmers Branch is a sister-city to Carrollton.

1. Making an offer on a home with out being pre-qualified.Pre-qualifing will make your life easier- so take the time to speak to a lender. Their specific questions in regard to income, debt, etc., will help determine the price range you can afford. it is an important step on the path to home ownership.2. Not having a home inspection.Trying to save money today can end up costing you money tomorrow. A qualified inspector will detect issues that many buyers overlook.3. Limiting your search to open houses, or ads on the Internet.Open houses represent a small percentage of the homes available for sale. www.teamPATandDon.com     www.realestateteamPATnDON.com When you are getting ready to put your property on the market, there is a myriad of things to think about, to prepare for, and to organize. Here is a short list of some of the pitfalls to watch out for.  Deadly Mistake Number # 1Incorrectly Pricing Your Home            Every seller wants to net as much money as possible when selling their home.  Unfortunately, a listing price that is too high often gets the seller less than a listing priced at market value.  If your house is not priced competitively, people looking in your price range will reject your house in favor of other larger homes for the same price.              At the same time, the people who should be looking at your house will not see it because it is priced over their ...
