I have been having such bad reception from AT&T servicethat I am thinking about changing carriers. I have had my iphone for over a year and my daughter has had hers for about 2 or 3 years.  We are both having problems. Several people I know that have iPhones are having problems also. Yesterday I needed to use the map icon to get to my destination it never loaded! That was the last straw. I am tired of waiting for AT&T to get their act together. This is my real estate phone I need to be able to get a hold of my clients when I need to and I need to hear what they are saying! So with that being said, who in the greater Houston area has had problems with their iPhones ? Before I break my two year contract I need to know that these problems are not just our cell phone problems...Heather's is ...

Until the beginning of the Space Race in 1957, life around the Clear Lake area had a different focus. Water related businesses and water related activities were enjoyed in a relaxed manner. People cruised the waters, fished, sailed and skied in a relaxing, playful manner.      There were a few other businesses providing the day to day necessities of a slow moving economy for the local population.      Then the Clear Lake area became home to NASA's Johnson Space Center. Thus, US global leadership in space research and exploration was begun. The center brought about change forever. Clear Lake was no longer the quiet place between Houston and Galveston. It was on the move!      The economy soared as Aerospace Companies rushed to the area. The Space Center currently brings a great deal of d...

FELIZ NAVIDAD As far as I'm concerned, the King and Queen of Parties are Gary and Larrie Boetticher.  And now that we no longer live near, Patty and I have had to give up those great invitational occasions. The way these things work is this.  Larrie goes all out decorating their home and preparing keepsake favors for the guests.  She and Gary provide the main course and the soft drinks and light libations.  Guests bring a covered dish. Gary and Larrie also engage the professional entertainers, and no one knows who they will be until they arrive.  One of the best was a magician, for an example. But my very favorite was the Christmas party about eight years ago.  The guests had been there for some time, chatting, eating and getting reacquainted, when the stereo music stopped and the doo...

Some how I don't think Texas' hot dogs will ever touch the awesomeness of New York Hot Dogs...Just like you can't get better Mexican food than here and maybe lower California!  But James Coney Island is all we have and I think they are as good as it is going to get. But this is the best we have. I only hope that one day I will get to eat a hot dog from New York. I have heard many good things about New York foods....Pizza would be the other thing I would like to try from New York.... So with that I go back to finishing my lunch....yummmm!

One of the most exciting aspects of buying a home is looking at different properties in your price range and seeing houses in all sizes, conditions and styles. It is a great real estate education, for sure. Now days, most buyers begin their home search on line and have a good idea of which properties they want to view. Often times I hear such comments from the buyer as, "Gee this home doesn't look as big as it did on line." or "Oh, yes, I remember this room from the pictures -the bedroom really is that pink." How many homes should you plan to view before you make a decision? Well, that is up to you and your REALTOR and how well you have communicated with each other. It also depends on the neighborhood, the market, and your specific requirements. With the abundance of homes on the market...

Chuy's Mexican Restaurant is finally open in the Clear Lake/Webster area.  The Austin based chain has opened it's 6th restaurant in the Houston area.  Chuy's is famous for their Tex-Mex fare including home-made tortillas (you can watch them make them), freshly made salsa, light crispy chips, sizzling chicken fajitas and their off the menu "Creamy Jalapeno Ranch Dip".   Chuy's are decorated in an all Mexican Eclectic look with an Elvis theme.  I always get the chicken fajitas, which are perfectly seasoned and the flour tortillas melt in your mouth.  I haven't tried too much other than that, but the portions are Texas sized! Homes for sale in Clear Lake - Bay Glen There seems to be a lot of speculation going on about real estate prices right now and it's important to remember- real estate markets are local. It is easy to get caught up in what the media would have you to believe and that is, all real estate is in proverbial toilet. We've got the national economy, and the local one. Some parts of Houston even are doing better than others.  Hyper Local maybe? I'm looking for a GREAT deal! Hey! Who isn't? In the Bay Glen Neighborhood the number of homes closed through 8/17/2009 was 44. This compares to 40 this year. No complaints there.  The average sales price this year in the Bay Glen neighborhood is $166,072 compared with $165,943 last year. Average market time is up a bit this year and we're seeing a bit mo...

While my family and I were working in the yard today I wondered, "why do we go through the trouble?".  We plant things, we tear things out, rearrange plants, add dirt, weed, and mulch, year after year after year.  WHY?  Then I remembered, its curb appeal!  It's not only for those who are selling a house or those who are looking for a house;  it's  for pride of ownership.  Your yard is the first thing you see when you pull up in your driveway, its the first thing your friends see when they come to visit; your yard says a lot about how you feel about your home.  I want a beautiful lawn for my family and me to enjoy.  I want passer-byes to take a second look.  Curb Appeal...it could lead to your next transaction!  Keep on with beautiful lawns  and yard work....who knows who may be looking!...
