Dear readers,President Bush #41 surprised a crowd of several thousand at the re-dedication of his presidential library on Saturday by skydiving into the event. Bush waved wildly and gestured with his legs while on approach to a landing only a few yards in front of the stage. The spectacular entrance was kept secret from both the crowd, and members of his family until the event. This isn't the first time that President Bush has jumped into Aggieland, but skydives were mostly reserved for birthdays. If my memory is correct, this is his third or fourth jump onto the Texas A&M campus. Bush normally makes these jumps with the Golden Knights, which is the U.S. Army Parachute Team, and with the help of Skydive Aggieland, our own drop zone located at Coulter Field. Here is the quote of the day."Y...

Dear readers,As some of you may know, my family spent 1993-2003 living on Guam and other islands in the Western Pacific. Most of this was U.S. territory, taken by force by Japan on December 8, 1941.Besides Christmas and Easter, the two largest holidays on Guam are Veteran's Day and Liberation Day. On November 10, 1775, the United States Continental Congress passed a resolution for the foundation of a Marine force for the United States. On July 21, 1944, U.S. and Allied Forces landed on Guam to retake the island from Japan and end a 4 1/2 year occupation, which included be-headings, concentration camps, death marches and massacres. Four 232 years the U.S. Marine Corps has said "aye, aye, sir," and taken on every job handed to them. I really learned not to take them for granted when I liv...

Dear readers,We are so lucky to have a local symphony. The next concert is scheduled for November 16 at the First Baptist Church of Bryan. The concerts are normally held at the Rudder complex on the Texas A&M Campus, but is using different venues during the remodelling of the complex. This will be extra fun, as I haven't been in the church's new facility on the HWY 6 bypass near Briarcrest Drive. This concert brings to life the story of King David. The orchestra will be joined by several soloists and a narrator.Tickets can be ordered by calling the MSC Box Office at 979.845.1234 or clicking www.BVSO.org. Support our local arts!Blue skies,Sam Whitewww.SamWhiteRealty.com

Dear readers,For those of you who follow by blog, you'll recall that I heard U.S. Secretary of Defence Bob Gates speak when he accepted the sixth annual George Bush Award for Excellence in Public Service on October 26th. The award was presented with an audience of 3,000 at Texas A&M's Reed Arena.During questions, Gates made two comments which are noteworthy. When asked what he thought of the leadership of Iran, he replied "Not very much, and I think I should stop right there."When questioned about Russia's recent coziness with Iran, Gates seemed to still consider Putin a loyal ally, but during the course of his answer he said "we don't understand" several times.I hope YOUR Tuesday was without conflict.Blue skies,Sam Whitewww.SamWhiteRealty.com

Pass it on!This is a weekly service and each subdivision has a special day of the week different from regular garbage service that picks up the regular trash in the large green container. These are some hints to ensure your bulky items get picked up:Place all recycle items in the clear plastic bags that are provided FREE by the city.  To request a Curbside recycling start up kit or more bags, call the Public Works Office at 979-764-3690 and select option 1.Bulky items should be neatl...

When I joined Keller Williams Realty six years ago I thought I had found a place that talked a lot about things but as always did not follow through.  You see the experiences I had had before where full of empty promises.  It got to the point that I would just ignor what the broker said they would do for me becuase it never happened.  I discovered like others have the the KWR company is different and the Integrity was and is a way in which it works.  I'm sure that all companies mean well and I not saying that most do, it is just sometimes we are human.  Only promise what you can deliver or do not promise.  I have learned alot in the last few years as I have worked as an agent, Productivity Coach and now as a Team Leader, that people will be people, we just have to try and bring out the ...
