Tonight, Big Guy and I planned to celebrate Valentine's Day together along with most of the rest of the country.  We decided to go out to eat at a new restaurant in our area.  Actually, it's a 3rd or 4th offspring of a place we love to visit.  Featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives", the original Twisted Root Burger Company serves big, juicy burgers (made from your choice of beef, turkey, veggie or even kangaroo) topped the way YOU want them.  Sides are baskets of fried pickles, sweet potatoes, onions or a combination thereof.  There are special sauces on the table to give your burger a "kick".  5-gallon jars of pickles in various configurations line one wall of the serving area.  Yes, it's a bit loud and honky-tonk/funkish.  But it's also busy....very busy....with re...

Tranquility Farms in Fairview Texas Background Tranquility Farms in Fairview Texas consists of 46 home sites with many of them backing up to Sloan Creek. European country style homes sit on properties that are a minimum of 1 acre and have beautiful views of woods, water and sky. Tranquility Farms contains over six acres dedicated to interior parks, each with its own water feature. Imagine the views from your backyard oasis while entertaining and watching the sun slip from the sky into a beautiful night in Fairview Texas. Fairview implemented a dark skiespolicy in 1999 which limits artificial light that disturbed the view of the sky and stars. The difference is obvious as you approach Fairview at night. There is no glow of city lights, only muted street lights and a magnificent view of t...

Fairview/Lucas Texas Market Report for November 2010 Fairview had more listings in November of 2010 over the previous year by 8.3%. It took less time to sell a home by 25% and the number of sales that actually closed were down by 14.3%. The good news in all of this is the 50% jump in listings that received contracts and the increase of 8.6% in sales price. Fairview is a very beautiful community that has large estate homes on acrage lots. The country feel of the town combines with the upscale shopping and dining nearby to produce a very rare combination. You really have to experience Fairview to understand it. Deb and I would love to show you around and introduce you to the best kept secret for living in DFW. Currently Available Fairview Homes

Snow For Fairview Texas Makes It A Silent Sunday Jan 9, 2011 I know Silent Sunday usually does not have comments, but its so rare for us in Texas to get snow like this. The rain started early this morning. I had been up all night smoking a Texas Brisket for lunch and I got to see the rain turn to sleet, then snow. I mean big, fluffy, wake the kids up snow. The kind of snow that makes a 45 year old REALTOR put on his mad bomber hat and run outside to play. You gotta love Texas; everything here will sting, bite, kill or poison you and then God sends this beautiful snowy day...

Fairview Town Hall Ribbon Cutting - Dec 11, 2010 It was a chilly Saturday morning, but it was going to be a great day. Today was the day of the official dedication of the new Fairview Town Hall. It was in the planning and development stage for over five years and took one year to build, but the end result was worth it. The building is built with the latest green standards and will even have a 5 acre paddock and barn for the Fairview Police Horses. Now is that keeping it country or what? There was a Christmas parade and good food. The kids were having a blast and our mayor Sim Israeloff did a fine job with his ribbon cutting speech. If you ever need to know anything about Fairview, TX here is their official website. This is one beautiful and amazing building that will serve our fair tow...

2nd Annual Turkey Trot - Sloan Creek Middle School in Fairview TX.   The students of Sloan Creek Middle School are Paying It Forward in a big way!  Friday, November 19, 2010, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students of Lovejoy ISD ran or walked a lap around Celebration Park in Allen to help raise money for the American Heart Association.  I venture to guess that few of these students have direct experience with the benefits of the AHA, yet they have garnered pledges from the community to be donated on their behalf for this worthy cause.  Considering the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of American adults, these efforts are truly a case of "paying it forward" in hopes that they or someone they love will be saved from the research and services the American Heart Association p...

We recently decided that we wanted to go out and have dinner and take in the new movie, "The American" staring George Clooney. Having driven past the new Villages of Fairview shopping center located on the northeast corner of Stacy Road and US 75, we noted a new Gold Class Cinema had opened. We quickly purchased two tickets online. The first thing we noted was the theater had just 40 seats and an extensive food and beverage menu. Upon our arrival, we checked in with the concierge and we were escorted into the lounge area where we pre-ordered our dinner and had a couple of cocktails while we waited for the theater to be ready. The lounge area has a large, well-stocked bar and is set up like being in a large living room with small pit groups of chairs and tables. When the theater was read...

"Keeping It Country" in Fairview, TX      "Keeping It Country"...that has been the motto of Fairview, TX since it incorporated in 1958.  Fairview is a small town north of Dallas nestled right between McKinney and Allen.  And up until about five-six years ago, the City of Fairview had an ordinance that required all homesites to be one acre or more which seemed to go along with their motto.  Now when you think "small town", you might picture a typical rural town with farms and chickens running about.  However, that is not Fairview.  It may have a few chickens here and there, but you're more likely to find beautiful custom homes on large lots, rolling hills, creeks, and some horse farms.  It has been one of the best kept secrets in the Dallas area.  It started off with a population of 50 a...

Do you love your Dentist? I do, but I don't love needles.  As a matter of fact, I really don't like needles during a dental procedure.  I don't mind taking one in the shoulder or the backside, but not in the mouth.  No thank-you I will pass.  Now this problem started for me with a rough and tumble dentist who was in a hurry and caused me a ton of pain. Fast forward five years and we are moving from McKinney to our beautiful new home in Fairview, TX.  My wife and I are both Realtors and this was our dream house.  Everything was perfect, until I needed some dental work done.  Well, I knew I needed a new dentist and this was a perfect time to change.  Who should I use?  Well, being a good Realtor and running my whole business from Referrals I knew to ask my friends and family. I was told a...

Fairview gets a Gold Class Cinema     How much fun do you have at a typical movie?  The lines are long, the crowds are rude, the theater is hit or miss on comfort and the service is at best acceptable.   So how would you feel about a theater that spoils you rotten? I mean flat out ruins every other theater experience you will ever have.  Don't believe me, well let me introduce you to the Gold Class Cinema in Fairview, TX.  Now there are only 5 of these amazing movie houses in the world.  They take watching a movie to the next level and then some. Allow me to walk you through how watching a movie should be...   You make reservations for the movie of your choice over the phone, the internet, or in person at the theater.
