Mobile Home Lenders   For an existing manufactured home to meet FHA standards, there are two main criteria. 1.  The home must not have moved from the original installation.     To determine this the serial number or label number of the home is  on public record and can be looked up.   2.  The home needs an FHA approved foundation.  An engineer's inspection and letter are needed every time the house is sold.  The cost is around $350.00 and needs to be paid up front.  After the engineer inspects the foundation they will send a letter saying that it meets the FHA guidelines or that it needs work to do so.  In all cases the foundation must be approved before a loan can close.
