The 72nd annual Floresville Peanut Festival is coming the second weekend in October.  That week of October 4-8th, 2016 will be filled with the normal Floresville Peanut Festival Events.    Floresville is part of the South Texas area and is about 20 miles southeast of San Antonio in Wilson County.   The Floresville Peanut Festival was started in 1938 to celebrate one of the main crops raised in the area.  Sadly that crop has declined in production and is no longer a focal crop of the area but it was for many, many years.  72nd Annual Floresville Peanut Festival 2016 dates:                                                            October 4, 6-8th 2016 Goober Games October 4, 2016                    5-7 pm                Coronation- October 6, 2016                                  7 pm K... 09/14/2016

Extreme Home Makeover is in Floresville, TX. Everyone was so excited to learn that Extreme Home Makeover was planning their last project to air here in Floresville, TX.   THEN,  when I was told who it was to honor I was even more excited.  This soldier was badly wounded in Iraq.  His name is Shilo Harris and he has a wonderful family behind him.  His wife Kathreyn and his children. The Wilson County Historical Society decided to have an old fashioned opry with country and gospel music on November 3, 2011. The turnout was great and good fun was had by all. FLORESVILLE PEANUT FESTIVAL -- week of October 4 - 9, 2011 Floresville Peanut Festival Week is here again.  This festival has been celebrated in Floresville, TX for over 65 years. Yesterday, I heard a noise that I had not heard in a long time. It was a lawnmower hard at work.  Astounding.  It is for us in South Texas as we have been so drought plagued this year we have not had to mow our lawns in weeks.  While that may be a good thing, the looks of the lawns is not.  Most are dying and have become sparse.  So when it rained last week it was a very welcome sight for all of us.    Then the sound of lawnmowers began again.  We hope that sound continues a lot in the future because we NEED the RAIN so badly. Wilson and all the surrounding counties are being plagued by the lack of rain in the number of fires that are occurring.  The roads are dotted with burned patches.  With every burned patch you see there is a story.   Someone was careless and started a fire.  Then ... 10/04/2011

67th Annual Floresville Peanut Festival ~ Downtown Floresville, TX ~ October 4th, 6th-9th.   It's that time of year again Floresville..... Floresville Peanut Festival kicks off tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct.4th) with the Goober Games at 5pm-7pm. The Carnival opens Thursday, Oct. 6th on the festival grounds at the Wilson County Courthouse parking lot. This years event looks to be a fun filled weekend. A little history... Phillip Viapond had his Grand Opening for his new location at 2840 Business Loop 181 N in Floresville on Friday, August 26, 2011.   His Builders Flooring Design Gallery moved locations and was joined by the other tenants in the 181 Business Center building to celebrate his new location.  Keller Williams Realty Heritage~~Total Edge Team, Jordan Builders, Southwest Funding and Wildhorse Energy hosted a customer appreciation night to coincide. The guests enjoyed a spread of food, beer and wine and a performance by Gary D.
