Interesting view one million miles out from the Earth with the Deep Space Climate Observatory with the sun illuminating the back of the moon, the part we never get to see as the orbit crosses the Earth.Amazing what you see with those cameras out there!!The Dark Side of the Moon. And not Pink Floyd LOL.

Political silly season is starting in full force NOW till the next year 2016 November Presidential election. I tell everyone let ALL the craziness and also serious discussing of issues play out, it is GOOD for our country. BUT also take much of it in humorous STRIDE.Jimmy Fallon, late night comedian did this bit on Obama calling TRUMP up on HIS released cell phone number even though I heard it was the wrong number in reality. You can't make this stuff up LOL. Debate advice.Enjoy.

In the area of gardening there are many life lessons we can learn from tending to the plants. ONE is all about seeds. Rome was not built in a day. There is rarely any kind of get rich quick scheme out there today. In relationships, people don't know and understand YOU or you for that matter grasp them instantaneously on day one. THINGS TAKE TIME.What you do or do NOT do today influences the end result in your tomorrows.Seeing that giant sunflower, harvesting a big plump watermelon, finding vinca growing outside your flower boxes, ALL are determined by what you did back when everything was just a seed.Plant good seeds. Plant seeds daily. Begin with the end in mind, but by all means keep creating many beginnings to keep the end results happening. Don't be a lazy bones with your life farmi...

Friendship is an interesting chapter in our relationships development. Acquaintances, clients, coworkers, even lifelong partners or spouses, CAN have as a basis various degrees and depths of friendship. We can have pseudo friends, quasi friends, loosely attached friends, long distance or even virtual friends. Friends that stand the test of time of loyalty, commitment, trustworthiness earn that "true friend" status. Then we have the BFFs, and I do believe we can have "multiple" Best Friends even if the word kind of implies BEST meaning the top of the mountain, only one. They say in marriage ideally you will marry your BEST friend and it certainly is a rock solid foundation for trying to have that institution LAST.BUT "who" should NOT be your Best Friend???I won't even get into the romanc...

There's a fun word that seems to take in a lot of the chaos all around us daily, with bad news pouring in from the web, TV, and social media, and that is CACOPHONY.It is essentially noise, but more specifically HARSH, discordant mixture of sounds. Unfortunately NOT tuning enough of this out in our day we don't get to tune into BEAUTY. Work on PART of your day at least this tuning in of beauty. It is there if you look for it and remember the quote from Confucius:EVERYTHING HAS BEAUTY, BUT NOT EVERYONE SEES IT.

A flower grows in silence after the June 2015 rains in my Flower Mound garden. On June 19, 2015 Flower Mound and Grapevine Mayor signed disaster declarations due to flooding. Water spilled over from Denton Creek and roads were closed. The only road over the dam over Lake Grapevine opened yesterday on July 17th at 12 noon. Residents were relieved. Long Prairie Road (2499) a major artery to get to DFW Airport, 121 North, and 636 were impassable. Alternate routes were stressful but we survived.  When disaster strikes people depend on police and local government to assist the people and get roads moving. It's been a long time since I crossed that bridge over the dam. A few weeks ago, Long Prairie (2499) opened up. Funny how we take things for granted. Handling conflicts is something nobod...

I am convinced even limiting some days to watching just the first 15 minutes of the televised world news broadcast or 15 minutes of the LOCAL news is not good for my mental and emotional well being. Some days it is like the world is going to hell and a hand basket "out there" with the crazies, idiots, and problems.SO, I humor myself, and hopefully help you as you drift over here to my lilly pad and find something GOOD going on with the world. This video capture is called The Rise Of The Puppy Swarms. Who knew being kissed to death by hoardes of puppies can just make you feel that there really is a lot of goodness going on with the world? You just have to find it and feel good again. I did.

I have seen recently many folks bailing on social media of all types to reclaim their "sanity" from the speed of our society. While I understand at the surface level not doing anything to excess, unplugging totally cuts you off from people. The Millennials generation in particular for personal or business purposes is NOT unplugging. You can disconnect for a day and major things happen in their lives that you probably are unaware of now.I think with ALL the forms of social media we can develop being "lightly tethered."That means breeze through them READING when you get a chance. You don't have to post or LIKE or comment just READ. Think of yourself as a BROWSER into the world of the up and coming generation. Is Grandma Martha at the nursing home Facebooking four times a day? Probably not, ...

Happy 4th of July y'all. That's how we say it in Texas. Way back in 1982 comedian Robin Williams did a routine on the American Flag which if you had not seen it or don't remember it here it is again. Our flag does represent ALL of us, without labels, and as Lincoln says a house divided cannot stand.Robin pointed out we all carry pain, and some of the genius comedians probably carry more than even we do with illnesses and demons but IF they can make others laugh, it helps them.SO just remember the stars and bars today and all our country has been through over time and enjoy the holiday. I do truly believe we still have our best days ahead as a country!!

In any school setting, a D letter grade is considered poor and is to be avoided. Better than an F for sure but at least as a minimum a C should go with a class you struggle in.Another D form you might be rated on for success is actually a good thing. Many at mid year say they did not effectively accomplish goals and if they work better the second half they may do better with this D. It is the D for DISCIPLINE. Today we have many distractions to take our eye off the ball, and waste time. Choose words carefully for motivation. Eat instead of diet. Train instead of exercise. It is ALL about the mind in gear rather than lazy mind. Be different.Be good with your DISCIPLINE!!

I really don't think as we are into the second decade of the 21st century, things are really not going to keep being fast around us, BUT daily "we do have control" to slow things down a bit for perspective, and also better connection to people and more "significance and meaning" individually for our own welfare and lives.I happened across reading today an old essay of the late comedian George Carlin that he penned. It was called the Paradox of Time, and it was well thought out at the time he wrote it and probably more even appropriate today to remember to "slow down" in these fast fast times we seem to be in.FAST is good in many areas of our lives with getting paperwork sent electronically across town or googling something you need to research while out in the car from your phone. BUT w...

Remember that LEMMING creature? Runs out there and everyone follows it. Didn't Mom ask if everyone jumped off a cliff would you follow? Think all the social networks to join, Netflix to subscribe to, training sessions to sign up for, people who want to buy you a cup of coffee, being politically correct with your friends on Facebook? Remember YOU were born an original, don't die a copy. Try new things for sure. How does it feel? Is it NOT right for YOU? I know some people who gave up TV altogether. Know your inside. GET in touch with it. NO LEMMINGS in your house!! Stick to that thought!!!

I don't know how I attracted so many high anxiety people into my life along the way, maybe cause I am the polar opposite being a very calm, unruffled feathers kind of dude person who lets much of stress and problems roll off the duck's back like water. BUT one thing talking to all of them in a state they get into a lot is something called hypervigilant. I thought it meant seeing things intensely all the time or super sensitive, but it was more a heightened sense of AWARENESS.Coming too often from a sense of ignorance is bliss state myself, or others joking that I seem "clueless" at times, being MORE AWARE allows you to read body language better, listen to what is NOT SAID, take in your surroundings better with all your senses, listen to the OTHER words people in a group are saying, esse...

A brief reminder to us all that when trying things and they don't work out, as often happens, DO NOT, label yourself a failure, but that what you did resulted in an outcome, and you try again. It is often stated we fail our way to success.Getting bummed out with a stumble is natural but look at it outside you, a bump in the road, a stepping stone to where you want to get to. Learn the lesson and keep moving forward. Do not INTERNALIZE the setback as YOU. It truly is outside you.NO ONE ever fails that keeps getting up off the mat.

Do you have a period of QUIET in your day all to yourself? I am encouraging you to find this for yourself, whether it be 15 minutes or thirty minutes. Early morning, end of work day, before retiring to sleep. WHY? Two things, UNDERSTANDING and ACTION. Where you can fit it in, as many days in the week as possible with our busy lives, REFLECTION and COURSE CORRECTION assist you with productivity and a good life. Pondering what is going on. Determining next steps for business, personal, even recreational or future vacation plans. UNDERSTANDING is critical to get off insanity treadmills of doing things not working. ACTION thoughts take the look at the past, and plan with CLARITY your future. Meditate. Try it. Probably MORE important than physical exercise. MENTAL EXERCISE for YOUR BENEFIT.

The parks and trails of Flower Mound is one of the many reasons why people choose Flower Mound, TX. No matter the season, there's always something beautiful or interesting to see that's green and growing. Because the climate is more cooperative than not, people enjoy walking the trails. The wildflowers are just beautiful in the spring. Is it no wonder that two of the main roads in Flower Mound are called Long Prairie and Flower Mound Road? I have friends who live on Lake Flower Drive; as for me, I enjoy planting flowers and tending to my garden. Years ago I served on the Board of Keep Flower Mound Beautiful and participated in planting seeds along the many trails. For prospective buyers and newcomers, I recommend the following trip advisor guide to the local trails. http://www.tripad...

Of the fiduciary duties of a real estate agent to their client of obedience, loyalty, disclosure, confidentiality, accountability and reasonable care/diligence-- the last two I have found are heavily weighted as a STRONG NEED. Buyers and Sellers want:                COMPETENCE.Similar to the MANY moving parts of landing and taking off aircraft from the flat deck of an aircraft carrier out at sea, a real estate transaction is FULL of constantly moving parts, and people, and even the growing pile of paperwork. Each year the moving parts number grows and you need as a client to work with a person who manages all this.None of us seemingly can know everything all the time, but knowing who to ask to be a resource whether a real estate attorney, an appraiser, a mortgage company suggestion, han...
