I have always been amazed how each of us is infinitely talented with the gifts we are given yet we ALL can do some real self doubt on ourselves depending on circumstances that happen to us in a day. Particularly the FORCE OF REJECTION. I have learned a coping skill on rejection that works for me and it is simply to laugh it off. You really do need to build up tremendous SELF CONFIDENCE in WHO YOU ARE with your gifts, let go and move on. Without getting into too much of the details (it was related to business) I broke my own record of getting rejected from two hours to 30 minutes, thinking WOW that was fast LOL. But don't fret, know you are the best even if in a numbers game, others might not see it.But this little electric violinist knows he's the best, and puts ALL HIS LIGHT out there ...

I have discussed in real estate circles before trying to pair yourself up with the ideal client or near ideal for your speciality or skill set. Business connections or personal connections or "future" directions ALL can be looked at as opportunities sought and WON or LOST. Often looking back on ones you "missed" it was either being slow of foot meaning indecisive or a timing thing or a two to tango thing. You wanted that new job, that new relationship, that new business venture, THEY or circumstances across the table did not want you!! You can't live your life with regret and hopefully your "skill set" in matching up with opportunities works out better for you as you go along with years in life.SOMETIMES there are ONCE IN A LIFETIME opportunities to grab that brass ring, and other times...

When it comes to home repairs or around the house ongoing maintenance we come to the fork in the road, do it yourself (DIY) or spend some money and have someone else do the work. What should you do? Three things to consider: expertise money time Do you know how to do the repair, or can you learn? Are you comfortable with your skill set for this repair and work? How much would it cost you just to delegate it to a handyman or specialist? My Depression era parents wanted to do EVERYTHING themselves. Very self reliant. Sometimes the cost to outsource is HIGH.THEN what is YOUR time worth, when you are off doing other things in your life? Maybe leave the fence repair or fence staining and sealing to a company that does that day in and day out. Maybe standing up on high ladders in an entryway ...

TEXAS REAL ESTATE & THE ELDERLY Between 2011 and 2029 the largest elderly population in the United States will consist of Baby Boomers. Compared to previous generations, they are the most educated and successful in U.S. history.  Of the 70 million Baby Boomers born between the years 1946 and 1964, about 65 million survived. What this means to the housing market is that many empty nesters will be downsizing or moving in with their children. Some will go to assisted living homes or nursing facilities. Active Senior Citizens will be in search of a 55+ Community and many will flea colder climates in favor of warmer locations by the ocean, beach or golf course. Important features that seniors will be looking for include state of the Art Medical Facilities with a wide range of specialties, ...

They say death and taxes in life are constant, so is CHANGE. We may fight change all the time, like restaurants going out of business, your favorite brand at the store disappearing, people leaving your life, new software you are forced to use at the office, Obamacare, whatever, but no doubt change pops up every day. Two elements to help thinking about this:1) Acceptance - get to a serenity point of things out of your control that "change on you". You must do that or you will be trying to put square pegs in round holes all the time. It does not work.2) Action - if the only REAL thing you have control over is YOU, in making things happen, not letting things happen to you, you have to DO SOMETHING. This get off the couch mentality requires effort on your part. The saying, Be the change, do...

Happy Memorial Day all. May we remember those military who sacrificed it all in the service of our country and to maintain our liberty. Also thinking of the families left behind missing a family member that will never walk their homeland anymore. Especially so tough on them, the children, spouses, partners, extended family, and parents.

As we enter close to the second half of the year, ONE New Year's resolution thing I think we all maybe could re-visit is "to be a better problem solver." It really requires two things, 1) prioritizing and 2) focus. It is said that the better a problem solver you are in life, THE FURTHER you will go.You must work on knocking out the bigger problems first as if you think about it we probably have more problems than we can count. Working on the minor ones while a HUGE one is in front of you looming is like doing busy work. FOCUS means get off the couch and DO SOMETHING. It will not get solved magically with your DREAMING about it. Steps laid out. A goal is a dream with a deadline. Be creative, read, ask others, elicit HELP to solve the problem.AGAIN, remember the WHY of the problem solving...

I came across this video from Huffington Post, and it reinforces that little miracles happen all the time when we GIVE first and foremost to other people with our time, talent and treasure, and more importantly just making some small difference in their lives. THAT DIFFERENCE ILLUSTRATED here comes from individuals who through medical techniques for the first time encountered HEARING.Every positive difference we make in people's lives may not be this dramatic, BUT still as they say they may forget what we said but on the GOOD SIDE they will ALWAYS remember how we made them FEEL.DO GOOD ALL THE TIME, and don't harm another. It always has an impact, both great and small.

I saw a thought that honoroing mothers should not be one day but each day of the year. How true. Mothers play many roles in our rearing, Cop, Nurse, soothing things with Dad, Nurturer, Cook, Maid, but above all--TEACHER. We get values, sense of right and wrong, spiritual development, hygiene, ALL sorts of information from when we are toddlers to age 18 AND BEYOND. Starting with the sacrifice to carry you for 9 months, your MOM is the most unconditional love partner/ally you bond to right away. YOU are so a part of her.Honor all women that become Moms. The expectant Mom, the Mom who had a miscarriage, tne young-middle age-older Mom, the other Moms, the single Mom, the empty nester Mom, the wife or partner Mom, the passed away Mom.They ALL are special in their own way. For everything they ...

So often, especially on social media commenting, Facebook, blogging, Twitter, news articles, people are ATTACKING others with hiding behind their keyboards for people being different from them. To me it is the height of being immature. Different is just what people tend to be. I would encourage you toLove People, Don't Judge. It is a more kind based approach. We have different life and spiritual journeys. Different cultures, different experiences. SURE, call out something evil if you see THAT, but most things are not on that scale. People are entitled to different values and beliefs. Chill. Just LOVE and let the judging be left up to a higher power.

I have read some more critiques of social media lately and one thought is now with so much proliferation of "selfies" posted and also the search for more and more LIKES to a particular page or comment or photo whether Facebook, Instagram, blogging, Google Plus, favorites on Twitter, we who participate are becoming a self-absorbed generation. That is, deriving our BEING OK from the outside world. Before you get labeled an "extreme narcissist" which comes from mythology with Narcissus falling in love with his own image in a reflective pool of water, think of maybe putting this quote into your being for a new way to think. It is from Elisabeth Kubler-Ross:People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is re...

Sometimes I think we all work too much and take far too little time to play and laugh. A little fun, a litle silliness for your day. Take a break with a guinea pig interview.

Our buyer and seller clients, ourselves, ALL have goals they want to achieve in some timely fashion. I have written about action and persistence and vision and focus all being important in getting from Point A to Point B.BUT one of the MOST important factors in that path, a SECRET that sometimes slips people and their minds, whether to save enough money, to get a new position, to buy that house is the following:DISCIPLINE"is the BRIDGE between goal and accomplishment. It can require patience. It can rely on being a steadfast follower DAILY of a step one through ten plan. THINK of landing men on the moon. The country and the scientists and engineers and astronauts stuck with "the process" until the goal was attained. Think of an exercise plan or weight loss or fitness goal. You do NOT ach...
