I got to thinking yesterday the ineffectiveness of one of our phone tools, with the question,Does Anyone Use Voice Mail Anymore? You know, the modern day equivalent of the old answering machine tied to phone. Now with cell phones, you set up a voice mail "box" to hold your messages, but is anyone retrieving them? Millennials don't ever want to pick up a call except from personal friends, NEVER seem to have time to listen to a "box" and just say TEXT me. REALTORS have "voice mail box full" recordings to drive you crazy. NOW instead of LOVING incoming calls with the advent of the phone ringing, 9 of 10 calls are robocalls. Is it any wonder people prefer text or email?SMS messaging or social media of some form??The world HAS changed. I still LISTEN to voice mail, and respond if appropriate ...

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite "chill out" holidays. It can be as stressful or least stressful as you want to make it with travel, holiday dinners, talk around the table, or life takes you a detour off traditions some years. But it does offer a "quiet pause" to reflect what you are thankful for each year amidst any turmoil in your life. For me, I like to be grateful for "GOOD CONNECTIONS". People in life, acquaintances, family, friends, associates, THOSE you know you can truly count on. They give you inner peace, they give you shelter from your storms. ALSO if you do not have enough of them, BE ONE, to others and in turn they may become one for you.Cherish people that are the special ones!!You know who they are. You just be yourself with them.Today and always, be thankful for them. ...

Financial planners have always mystified me about their "savings and investment" plans, like life is this straight line of predictability. I know probably only TWO people out of 200 who started a job after college and retired from it many years later. So too, with many things that happen to us. Stick with it, do not complain, the change MAY be good, not acutally bad, but give it time. Our natural tendency with change with discomfort at first is to overlook the blessings hidden in disguise.Again my advice, eyes wide open, see WHAT is good with something and hold off the complaining. The detour MAY be the best thing that ever happened to you!!

Often we talk about resolutions to change something in our lives at the start of the new calendar year in January but with trending cooler temperatures with the advent of Fall, I thought of a good one for everyone to work on.Work with more effort to be a critical thinker. This dawned on me from reading so many opinion pieces and also social media commentary where people just seemed to mouth statistics, ideas, thoughts, feelings, like they were a robot of the next person.SO OFTEN, the underlying premise of what they were talking about, was built on a FALSE FOUNDATION, or the conclusion about their thought, if they looked at it in any slight greater depth, was ALL WRONG. Now using the word WRONG these days can get you in all sorts of trouble, if something is subjective or built on OPINION....

by Patricia Feager, 10/2017 Growing together as a community to promote good health is one of the many distinct reasons why Buyer's choose Flower Mound, Texas. What sets the Flower Mound Farmer's Market located in Parker's Square apart from other Farmer's Markets in North Dallas is that it's not just about the people choosing plants, vegetables, and fruit. This morning I got to see this beautiful dog sniffing out the barbecue sauces. As soon as he was done, he mozzied on over to another friendly dog for communication.  Flower Mound is known for being a family community where students are included in gathering places. Here at the Flower Mound Farmer's Market on Saturday morning, on October 14, 2017 these fine musicians were recapturing the spirit of music and serving as a reminder how cul...

Discussions with in particular one demographic group can be fascinating. One such topic involves many apps, or applications on the current myriad of smartphones and tablet computers connected with high speed internet access wirelessly. They say, you real estate agents will all be gone by say the year 2020. Why? There will be an app for that. Not so fast Jason or Amanda there. While there are apps for better searching for properties, they do not realize real estate has gotten more COMPLICATED.Each year, contracts get more involved, detailed, longer and new contracts. Mortgage programs change the rules, add/delete programs, and what about the resources of appraisers, inspectors, handymen, title companies, attorneys, federal regulations that change, it is far more complex than five or ten ...

Time relentlessly moves on in our lives. It always feels it is moving faster the older we get. The toilet paper roll effect, it spins faster as we get closer to the end : )But even if we truly cannot SAVE time, they are not making more of it, but we can delegate or do things in parallel, or easier what layers on top of time passing is the persistence of:   CHANGENote four kinds of change and be aware with life what you are experiencing.1) Change just happens. The local restaurant closes, someone dies, your health fails, you get a new job, your roof leaks, the dishwasher breaks. Wear and tear rusting or growing in life. Change happens TO you. Then we have three categories of you affecting change, change FROM you.2) You sit on the fence and make NO choice to change. No choice is a decision...

Reading through some 4th of July commenting on social media I was disappointed to think some people were disheartened with America, their country. I have always thought differences with civil debate were good for our country, but people veering into hate of others, it serves no one. It reminded me in life that we all should figure out how to make a difference.Make a difference in life, love, relationships, the environment, your workplace, your home, to voices that can't defend themselves, with health, with helping others, with being your best, with just being courteous. And my sharpened pencil idea that stuck with me with reading people who seemed to not even take the time to unconditionally LISTEN to others without essentially shouting them down, was we all NEED TO CARE MORE. Caring re...

When we have dreams in life, to buy a new home, to move to a new location, any kind of dream, I encourage you to DREAM BIG. It is invigorating. Small dreams, safe dreams, do not allow you to grow as much. Use your imagination to go far, go for the gusto, even if it is scary. In the corporate world they said "stretch goals". Think of landing on the moon as a goal in 1961, now that sure seemed like a stretch to do for a future date in 1969.It may seem scary even, but it is what being alive is all about. Promise yourself and other the best, and work towards it. Jump and the net shall appear. Connect the dots as you go, you never have all the traffic lights green ahead. You may surprise yourself with footprints on the moon.
