I heard someone lamenting the other day on a birthday occasion thanks for the greetings and not reminding them about the TIME passed at the older age they were at. I do think people worry too much about TIME and not about MOMENT. Moment is packing as much into each day of happiness and meaningfulness and learning (good or bad) and its AWARENESS in those pieces. A day might have three or four or more MOMENTS you need to be aware of and that is how to LIVE. The people or places or what you are SENSING.Live life forTHE MOMENT, and you won't have to worry so much about TIME."it is being in the present"

It always is mind boggling to me with folk either listing a house or going out looking to buy property "unrepresented" by any agent. The Do it yourselfer idea taken to a very unhealthy state in my view as there are way too many risks out there to get yourself in trouble. The term "fiduciary" is the relationship you have with an agent, your best interests are THEIRS, and the simplest I can describe to someone thinking of asking for representation, is they are your     PROTECTOR.A protector is a comfort to have, it offloads much worry on your part, they are looking ahead at pain points to avoid, and financially they want you to come out as high as you can on top, best purchase or most net in a sale.Even if something seems going sideways in a transaction on days, your PROTECTOR is taking t...

This is probably AT LEAST the third time I have written on this topic and I will entitle itFocus HARD On Your Important Not Urgent Area.It comes from dividing life and tasks and people into four parts, important-not important and urgent-not urgent.I was triggered to write this focus again as productivity coaches are ALWAYS all about growing business and working harder whereas NO ONE on their deathbed ever wanted to be at the office LONGER.I scream out,"Are you kidding me?""You are totally missing the boat here!!"The IMPORTANT-NON URGENT especially screams out to your inner being and soul with PEOPLE. The ones if you wrote down on a sheet of paper may number five. It could be also related to tasks, goals, dreams, and hobbies like my illustration, but that just reinforces WHAT YOU VALUE.P...

Having grown up with film cameras and not a camera built into every phone the whole idea of selfies has been foreign to me and still I must admit remains that way. A huge advantage OF a selfie is including the photographer in the shot with the other people. Many of my twenty year old photos and back did not include me cause I had the camera. But I want you to think ofThe Advantage of NOT doing selfies. To begin with, what is so wrong about giving your camera to another? Shy? They won't take a good picture? The prime advantage of not doing selfies but using another method is the stupid arm or pole you put in your photo. OK, granted it is a tradeoff to have YOU in the photo if you are out in the middle of the woods and don't want to hand the camera to the bear. But in many instances, people...

On the occassion of Valentine's day so much can be symbolized with hearts, flowers, cupid arrows, chocolates, champagne and even written on the many aspects of what love is in all its forms. I even find the unexplainable how love can drift away, end, you not feel it anymore, someone treating you different than before, mature vs. immature love, lust or love, the list goes on. But at a very simple level while you have love in your grasp and you are FEELING IT,Love Is A Safe Refuge. This probably spins out from home is where the heart is. With another person or group, that the feeling is one of acceptance, sheltering you from the storms of life, I'm OK You're OK nirvana. It is a good place to be when you arrive there. Another, or others, CARE about your well being, not to get anything in ret...

There is a paraphrased quote out there that goes something like, "Those that think things can't get done should get out of the way of the people that are doing them." A lot of naysayers it seems in every walk of life. In real estate and in life, if you are one who likes to DO THINGS, I say do them. Those voices buzzing in your ears in the background, well, just ignore them. Maybe surprise those folks when they finally see you pulled it all off. What does an accomplished person do? They accomplish things.Sometimes with young people they joke that they didn't know they couldn't do something. I think we should have that philosophy at any age.So go forth and set you sights on what is meaningful to you. Knock down barriers, tune out the detractors, make the impossible possible. It IS the way ...

Often when people see or read about "success" of others, an achievement, an accomplishment, hitting a milestone of some sort, they can think simply it was easy street. Whether a closing from a real estat transaction or a personal goal-- getting to success often had many failures along the way.Bumps In The Road are NaturalWe know this from our own journey with trial and error, things that did not work, things that went sideways, the unexpected, God laughing at our plans.Remember to be persistent DESPITE your bumps, and you will get there. Remember it is not easy for others either.

I have often said a real estate agent in the middle of a contentious transaction is like a conductor of a symphony trying to get all the pieces to work together. Whether in real estate or a heated discussion with politics, religion, or controversial topics at lunch or a dinner party or social media you want to be a     Harmony Snoopy.Guidelines to get to "harmony" remember to: you don't have to give in to get along, surrendering, but be better at understanding as I said in New Year New Ways, practice suspending judgment Do not escalate things with inflammatory or profanity laced language YOU be the calm adult person in the room. I know it can be hard sometimes especially when maybe a personal attack flies your way, but these adult people do really exist Maintain your long view of what y...

by ©Patricia 1/11/2017 Official 2017 Blog JUMPSTART Challenge - Enhance YOUR Personal Best In support of my community, I'd like to introduce it's newest permanent attraction - Moviehouse Eatery Lakeside. With a relatively small population of about 66,000, it's easy to jump off the main drag, Long Prairie Road onto 121, 35E or 35W, 635, or 114 to hit the big cities of Dallas or Fort Worth. There, you'll find many large major attractions. In a hometown family community, such as Flower Mound, about a year ago we got our very first Moviehouse Eatery Lakeside. It is located between Long Prairie Road and Lake Grapevine. Lakeside is newly constructed mixed-use of apartments, Townhouses, half to Million Dollar+ homes, shops, restaurants and the Movie Theater. What residents are saying they like...

Happy New Year Everyone!! I know many posts roll out all sorts of new year resolutions that people commit to and I would remind you to stick with them 21 days to make it a habit.A new year, new ways --- some thoughts for me and maybe you to shoot for -- Get things done. We all do to some extent but focus on eliminating time wasters to get more things done and things done quicker Be a better you. Focus on dropping judgment and just being more nice to everyone Pack into your time (your life) what is important to you not the trivial or meaningless stuff. Time is swift Live in the moment AND take note of moments. Life is this thing like little snapshots and you can't really stay rooted in your past or want something to be way in the future. One of the themes that goes along with the Christmas time of year is Peace On Earth. Besides no wars between nations as a great goal, carrying inner peace in times of turmoil and problems and SPREADING that to others is a worthwhile endeavor.Spread the peace. People will appreciate your presence and wonderfully immerse themself in your present of calm.Problems continue 24/7 despite holidays. We see them, we experience our own share. Traffic accident deaths, bursted appendix, chemotherapy for children, short term lifespan outlook with pancreatic cancer, hospice care, missing a loved one who is gone this year or revisitimg their memories. An unexpected illness that detours your travel itinerary. A store worker I overheard worked real hard all day yesterday and woke to a flat tire this mor...

Following up somewhat on my Thanksgiving Day post about helpers, I always see the world backwards. So much consumerism at this Christmas time of year, financial pressure, travel, people buying all sorts of goods they probably have no need for just to make people "happy." What I see, is many in great need for a listening ear, a warm hug, a reassurance that things will be fine, almost a pause AWAY from the craziness of life with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and just an encouraging conversation.I have had people come up to me at a table at McDonald's while I was using the WiFi to just talk about their day in the morning. Maybe I had that inviting looking face. Strangers in Walmart parking lots needing a few bucks for food. People at sports bars telling me about relationships falling ap...

It is hard to imagine it is 75 years back at the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese happened. On the battleship USS Arizona alone hit by the Japanese torpedoes 1,177 sailors and Marines died from that early Sunday morning. FDR called it a day that shall live in infamy. Me being stuck between a generation that lived through that and later 9/11 in the early 21st century you do wonder will 75 years from that if people will remember? Everyone remembers that attack in Eastern time that Sunday afternoon when the news came across the radio in 1941. My mother said she was at home in her bedroom. The U.S. was going to war. We should pause on all these events and remember key moments in life that change our country's direction. To honor the dead. To right a wrong. It is part of our history. T...

At this year's Thanksgiving time I think we all ponder what we may be thankful for at this point in our lives. For me what bubbled up to top of mind, I am thankful for      The Helpers and Protectors. What I mean by that, in ALL our struggles in every facet, we have teachers, advisors, friends, family, even strangers that just seem to be there to help. WELL OVER 90% of people will help you with what they can with their ability and resources often if you just ASK. The Protectors part are those special people that tune into when you are vulnerable in ceratin areas and shield you from all the harm that can come your way in the world. Caregivers you see, people who warn you about stuff, our police and military, parents, good friends or spouses, tons of protectors for you. Reversing it a bit,...
