Today's USA Today has a front page story about the effects of the recession. Two notable statistics stood out. •1.       Fewer people are moving- The number of people who didn't change homes in the past years rose from 83.2% in 2006 to 84.6% in 2009. •2.       One in eight (12.5%) of housing units sits empty. Let me first say I am not in any way connected to American Home Shield Warranty system except that I have one on the home we purchased in Sun City Texas Jan 2010. We noticed a drip underneath our kitchen sink and a slight amount of cabinet deterioration.  This is almost always plumbing fitting problem and can be corrected with a little Teflon tape and tightening. After a quick investigation and running water to test it, I discovered the water ran out of the bottom of the disposal itself and was not a fitting at all.  In fact the water was not just dripping it was a significant leak when water was run into the sink.
