The Granbury Chamber of Commerce along with the Granbury Independent School district are partnering for a really unique opportunity. All of our 5th-grade students have the opportunity to participate in this event on May 20th. The students will learn valuable entrepreneurial skills as they plan, prepare, and execute a lemonade stand somewhere in our city.The students must plan their stand, contact a local business to feature their stand, determine the supplies they will need, and then, execute the plan on May 20th. Last night in historic Granbury, Texas, what we as business owners fear–fire, descended upon our town. In the wee hours last night, a fire began in the iconic building known as The Nutt House. This anchor structure was built by the Nutt brothers who donated the land for our Square.The Nutt House has been a famous hotel and restaurant over the years. The newest owner has been putting in years of renovation and was only a few months from re-opening. This fire completely destroyed both floors of the building.But, one thing we know about Granbury, is the resilient spirit of our town. We had an exciting week here in little ole Granbury, TX. The fan-favorite TV Series, Yellowstone, descended upon our town this week. The show is preparing a Prequel called 1883. Our tiny town Square welcomed the film crews and the actors as streets were closed to accommodate the filming.My real estate office, Beam & Branch Realty was just a few doors down from the excitement and we all had fun watching the drama unfold. The immense amount of work that goes into the preparation of the site was really interesting to watch.
