One of the perks of being a Grapevine home owner is Grapevine Lake, and all that the recreation area has to offer. It's right outside your front door, and it's an ideal place to spend time with your family and friends during the warm summer months. From an awesome fireworks show that takes place every Friday night at 9:30 p.m. through August 30th, to the 8,000-acre lake that's ideal for water sports, it's easy to see why so many people call Grapevine home. Grapevine Lake is a great place to hike, bike, and camp, but unsurprisingly, the majority of the activities here are centered around water activities like fishing, sailing, and boating. Much of the fun takes place at Scott's Landing Marina where you can rent power boats and sail boats, dine waterside, and partake in other activities. ...

Today was the best day of 2011 for me, HANDS DOWN! For starters, I took the day off! I started the day with a bang with a terrific person and the bangs didn't seem to end all day. I took the day off and headed to the hospital where I was in the birthing room for my best friend to labor and deliver another healthy baby girl. Experiencing new life -- best experience, hands down! LADIES: A great place to deliver a baby in the DFW area is Baylor Hospital in Grapevine. A great OB/GYN is Dr. Troy New. And if you're lucky, you'll get 15 year vet Cindy Farmer for your labor nurse. If you move to the NE Tarrant County area this summer, I can tell you these pros are hot hot HOT! Triple digit HOT! Long day short... my best friend began her labor trying to get the hospital to administer far fewer d...

This Memorial Day weekend is a super special one for me, as well as for my super special client. I am wrapping up one of the most challenging weeks of my real estate career -- several deals simultaneously acting like this north Texas weather -- merciless. No one person's fault when deals take on their own Mother Nature hissy-fit style, wouldn't matter if there was a soul to blame, anyway. The bottom line is hoops had to be jumped through, hurdles had to be jumped over and at the end of the twisted day, my client and I sort-of decided together, "I think I need a hug..." Yet, there's nothing like a valley to make you feel like you're on top of the world when it all works out in the end! Today I am focused on this one pivotal moment in time when my heartbeat normally again and I knew I had...

Grapevine is a city in North Texas with portions in Denton, Dallas, & Tarrant counties.  It was known in its early years as Grapevine Prairie. As of the 2010 census the city population was 46,334. The city is named for wild mustang grapes prevalent in the area.  In recent years several wineries have opened in Grapevine, and the city has been very active in maintaining its historic downtown area. Grapevine citizens' concerns were heard but ignored at the Grapevine City Council meeting last night.  Many Grapevine residents were concerned about the final Parks and Recreation Master Plan.  Their concerns were that the city council were not thinking about protecting the wildlife areas around the lake, while making plans to expand soccer fields, hiking trails, and the dreaded concrete parking...
