My kids make me laugh with some of the things that come out of their mouths.  So when my four year old says that Easter is about candy, I quickly remind him that it's about Jesus.  "And candy".   Fair enough.  The annual Easter Egg Hunt in Castlewood of Highland Village, Texas is just one of the great events put on by our HOA.  Not only are there eggs to be collected, but crafts, pictures with E.B., snacks and the Boogie Woogie Choo-Choo. If you plan to attend, please bring a dozen filled eggs per child participating to the Clubhouse by Friday.  If you aren't able to drop them off, Jillian has a pink plastic bucket you can leave them in.   Don't miss your chance to see friends and neighbors this Saturday, April 12 at 1:30 pm.  See you then!

Notice that the title of this blog post is not "Why Is Community Important?" To me, the idea of community is not something we question as important.  Having community, and not just being part of a community, IS important.  My husband and I are hurdling towards a decade in our house in Castlewood in Highland Village, TX, which I just can't believe.   We moved here when we were fresh-faced newlyweds with dreams of life in a new place.  Raising kids, teaching them to ride bikes and schleping those same kids to soccer games, were visions in my head as we stood in front of a vacant lot we eventually built our house on.  Things I really didn't anticipate happening like skipping rocks with three children on nature walks, having the same bus driver for years, getting involved in the PTA and mee...

Babysitter?  Check.  Husband?  Check.  Wine?  Check and double check. This Friday, February 28th at 7:00 pm, the residents of Castlewood in Highland Village will stroll on over to the annual blind wine tasting put on by the homeowner's association in the Clubhouse.  With various meats, cheeses, specialty treats prepared by fabulous residents and desserts for all to share, this event is always a good time. Bring a bottle of red or white wine to "donate" to the group.  Each bottle will be wrapped up in a paper bag and placed on a table for each person to try.  Did you taste the citrus?  How about the roasted chestnut?  Was it tannic?  Did it you dump it because it was so bad?  Maybe it doesn't really matter!  You just like to be social and throw back some wine! The past two years, bargain...
